Around noon today I heard a Great Crested Flycatcher calling many
times as it passed through neighborhood elms. It went right through
our backyard, heading north. I looked for it a little later in and
around the Bristol Mesa area, but couldn't re-find it. Since I live
only a mile directly south of
I watched the vireo nest for 2 hours today and saw and heard the plumbeous
vireo, but not the yellow-throated. I arrived at about 10 or 10:30 and left
at 12:45, and in that time I saw the plumbeous visit the nest a few times
but never saw the yellow-throated in the nest or nearby.

To continue Beth Partin's observation, we arrived at Chatfield at about 1:15
and took up watch. We heard the Plumbeous vireo sing in the trees before
the bare spot when we were on the way to the nest site, but never definitely
heard or saw the Yellow-throated. We also watched the Western

This evening I had a completely black-backed Lesser Goldfinch visit my
feeder. A bit later a Common Poorwill fluttered overhead, landed a few
times on the back patio, posed for a blurry photo, took a couple drinks
from a water feature, and then left. It called for a minute or so from a
