We had 2-3 Steller's jays in our backyard every day from October 29th to
March 2, as we have seen and recorded them. Most delightful, most unusual,
and they seem to have split for higher places now.

The warm weather this weekend brought in a pair of lesser goldfinches to my

them in my yard!

Hi:
While downtown I noted either a first year, female Sharp-shinned or a male

Hi, Cobirders.
Today eight of us ventured out to Turkey Creek Recreation Area (Ft Carson

As we drove north from the stables, we encountered a plethora of Jays. There
were 2 Steller’s Jays and 22 Western Scrub-Jays. But the most fun was provided

Hi,
I birded Timnath Reservoir late this afternoon from the south side, the
west side and the east side. There were at least 15 species of waterfowl
present, including hundreds of Cackling geese. I was looking into the sun
from the east shore so I probably missed some species.

I fell backwards 3 days. My excuse - that I was glancing at an April calendar
- is lame. Today is the 10th. That should have been the date on my

Hi Julie, my initial impression is you have a Prairie Falcon in your photos.

I don't agree. It looks like a pale immature Ferruginous Hawk to me. It
appears to have a heavy barrel chested look, totally unmarked underparts, and
mostly pale head without the typical Prairie Falcon tear marking.
Of course better photos would help, but this does not appear to be a Falcon
