This is the Colorado Rare Bird Alert for Saturday, November 10 sponsored by
Denver Field Ornithologists and the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies.
Note that the RBA is using the new AOU checklist.
Rare and out of range
COBirders-- We Pueblo birders have been grousing about the impossibility of
identifying the individual Great Black-backed Gull(s) that has/have shown up
each winter since 1993. According to Dr. Google, the oldest bird of this
species on record is an individual that was banded in Massachusetts
I have seen white pelicans (singles, but not flocks) during Christmas count
week, so some occasionally hang out; possibly sick or injured, I imagine.

There are currently six white-winged scoters at Timnath Reservoir, viewable

Not enough trailing black on the back of the wing. They look like snow geese
to me.

The Bald Eagle pair have begun rebuilding the nest destroyed by recent high
winds. Best viewed from north side of Rigden Reservoir.

Hi all,
There’s currently a Black Scoter at Cherry Creek State Park. Viewing from
Pelican Point lot, looking toward Lake Loop. No luck yet with Red-necked Grebe
or Long-tailed Duck.

So I was hiking through Waterton Canyon when I noticed these flock. They
image was heavily cropped so the quality is terrible but I am sure there
are some experts that can tell by plumage pattern. The black tips and wide
wingspan reminds me of American Pelican but I'd figure they were all gone
Can anyone tell me how to delete photos from my rare bird report before I
submit my report. Have not found the way to get this done. Thanks.
