I spent a few hours today wandering around sw. Weld CountyHighlights were a
White-winged Scoter (first spring female) at St Vrain State Park (the pond just
south and west of entrance station. Also an Eared Grebe thereContinuing
Long-tailed Duck at Firestone Gravel Pits along with
COBirders,
I pulled into Walden Ponds in eastern Boulder Cty. this afternoon for a
quick peek. There is no open water on Cottonwood Marsh, but there was a
pile of Pigeons out on the ice being watched by a Bald Eagle. On the way
out I noticed a nice bright Say's Phoebe.
