Yesterday I did some birding in the Colorado City area where I spotted this
white and lightly marked (at least on underparts that were visible to me)
hawk. I got some photos and thought surely this was a Krider's Red-tailed
Hawk. I vetted it on a site where highly skilled birders give productive

property accessing Crow Creek riparian corridor from (new) Campstool Road
(water treatment plant on west side) to the Hereford Reservoir two miles to
Add Ruby-crowned Kinglet (2), too

While watching juncos and jays dodge blowing leaves in the backyard, I just had
a WOOD THRUSH hop by about 3 feet from my back sliding door! Got very good
looks in the light before it headed for the shadows in the corner of the yard.
I think it exited the yard just as I got my
birders
the Nelsons sharp tailed sparrow is still present at Chico basin ranch.

Our yard has had a six-sparrow menu this month -- though not all six at the
same time.
Lincoln's - Oct 3-6
Song - Oct 3-14
White-crowned - all month, all or almost all Gambel's
White-throated - Oct 13-21
Am. Tree - Oct 22 on
Juncos - all month.
During our Bit Sit! we counted 3 wren species
We also found these birds at CBR today.
Eastern Towhee (female) - Ira got pictures of this bird. Found near the Le
Conte's area.
Harris's Sparrow - 1 Found in the same area and 1 at HQ
Winter Wren - At HQ below the small pond.

Hi All,
This afternoon we found a Swamp Sparrow and a Wood Thrush at the sanctuary on
the west side of Lake Estes. Earlier this morning Jeff Maugans refound the
Harris's Sparrow that I had found the other day.
The White-throated Sparrow was not relocated.

The Nelson's Sparrow was seen around 1:30pm by 4 of us at the regular place.
LeAnn Joswick got an excellent look along with Vick Zerbi. The look at 1:30pm
was deffinately not as good of a look.I'm sorry I missed the name of the lady
from Colorado Springs who was present. A real surprise
