While birding at the reservoir on Saturday--the Cheyenne Audubon group
dropped by--nice to see my friends from the north.
Greater White-fronted Goose
Northern Shrike
Snow Goose - 15 or so
Bald Eagle put on a show trying to grab an American Coot who proved elusive.
Canada Goose - 1,000 or so??
Hi,
Can I get some confirmation of WHICH Centennial Park is referenced? There's
one in Englewood, and then there's the new one by the Centennial City buildings
east of I-25 on Arapahoe?
Thanks!

Has anyone seen the mobs of great tailed grackles that usually appear at
Stearn's Lake, Boulder County, in winter? Or, has anyone seen any great tailed
grackles yet this winter?
Thanks,

Good question: it isn't readily identified. It is in Arapahoe County slightly
east of Federal and on Union Avenue (which is 1/2 mile north of Belleview).

When I struggle to find directions to a site mentioned on Cobirds,
especially ones with common names, like Bear Creek, Deer Creek,
or Animadversion Creek, I hop on the CFO County birding website. At the
top of the page is a link named, Find a Site.
There I found this handy description:
Here is another suggestion for confirming directions for most of these
rarities; one that I use all the time.
Go to the CFO Website http://cfobirds.org/ as Joe suggests. In the lower
right corner of the home page is a list generated automatically from eBird
showing most recent eBird
Thanks, Bill (and others!),
This is a great suggestion for those of us who might be traveling!

Hello,
At 10:30am on Monday 11/25, there were 5 Tundra Swans on Sombrero Marsh,
Boulder County. One was adult, with the yellow lores. The other 4 didn't
have the yellow, but had the same bill size, with the rounded border at the top
of the bill, and curve at the gape. (They look like
Show time I believe is 0730-0800 time frame--I usually show up 730.

I was wondering if someone could help me with a couple of gull IDs. These
are both from Aurora Reservoir, where I thought I'd take a look at some of
the birds seen yesterday. I'm larus challenged, however, so I could use
all the help I can get.
The first bird, I'm calling an immature
Gary (and others),
I apologize for not leaving more details about how to get there - I myself
wasn't sure where it was when I first saw the reports. My savior was signing
up for the rarity reports from ebird where each sighting triggers an email with
who made the sighting and links to a map
Note the change in date of the Flagler CBC led by Bill Kaempfer. I have all
but four dates of the 50 Colorado CBCs. Left me know of any changes in your
CBC if you are a compiler. Thank you all for your help.
