We were having a lovely morning, catching mostly migrants returning to
breed, when the wind kicked up, which meant we closed nets early and the
birds headed for shelter. Here are the 23 new birds for the day:
House Wren 3
Gray Catbird 2
Yellow Warbler 9 new, 2 banded 2021
Common Yellowthroat 1
It has been tough birding for a few weeks now with unceasing strong winds
we have had. Not even early mornings are available as winds howl through
the night. So today, winds be danged, I birded the Malm Trail in Alamosa
figuring there was some protection from the wind. It actually turned out
