Hello all!
Dr. Claire Ramos' research lab caught and banded a Wood Thrush during
migration banding this morning at Clear Spring Ranch. I'm not sure how
re-findable the bird is but it was caught reasonably close to paved public
walkways.
We will be banding tomorrow from 620am-11am ish depending on
d about. First heard the Bohemians, so keep both

Hello all,
This week we caught 68 birds representing 12 species. Daily captures are
dominated by White-crowned Sparrows of both varieties. Spotted Towhees also
seem to be present in good numbers as we catch several a day and they make
up the majority of our recaptures from previous years. The

Did you contact the USGS? They have a website to submit band numbers. It
looks like it's a field readable band in addition to the usgs band. There's
a variety of reasons it has two bands.

Hi Chris!
I do a lot of kayaking and birding. Barr lake is my favorite place to go
for birding. Last weekend we watched some forsters tern fly around us, a
sandhill crane flew over and I've seen black terns from the lake as well. A
nice little list of shorebirds as well. They're having a pretty

Welcome!
Denver Audubon has a newish youth/ teen birding club that has regular trips
around the front range. So far we've gone to the Barr Lake bird banding
station, attended the Denver Christmas bird count, and most recently a duck
trip to south Platte park.
I copied Kate, the community outreach

At about 4:15 a few more of us saw the bird. We found it about a mile north
of teds place, on the north side of 287 on the other side from the sawmill.
This is further up the road from where Dave Wade saw it. The road bends
northward at this place and then continues straight north afterwards. The
Prospect ponds west of running deer.
A 1st year crane flew into the cows pasture with some geese.
No Greater White-fronted so far.

At about 11am this morning we found a 1st year Sandhill Crane in the cow
pasture next to prospect ponds. We missed the Greater White-fronted by
several minutes apparently. Scope photos on the CFO Facebook page.

We found most of the usual birds until we hit the long straight section
through the rabbit brush. Here we spent most of our two hour outing sorting
through a large and varied flock of birds.
