Dear COBIRDERS:

The Raptor Education Foundation (REF) is proud to present a brand-new raptor
ID class, "Signs of Spring", featuring species which are both coming and
going. As we eagerly await the warm days of March and glimpse the first
crocuses pushing up through the ground, our state's raptors are already on
the move! Some species are heading north, some are returning from the south.
Others will simply move east, or up to the cooler, higher elevations. You
never know whom or what you may see cruising through Colorado's skies in
early spring, so if you want to bone up on your skills ahead of the spring
migration, this is the class for you!

Several REF's live raptors will be featured, coupled with the combined skill
and experience of Colorado Parks & Wildlife Raptor Monitor Karen Metz and
Anne Price, REF's Curator of Raptors. You won't want to miss the chance to
see two of our newest raptors up close: our Mississippi kite and
sharp-shinned hawk!

The class will be held at our facility in Brighton on Saturday, February 27
with a tour of our exterior mews to conclude the session. Check in time is
9:45AM, and the lecture portion (indoors) runs from 10:00AM to 12:00 Noon,
with the mews tour afterwards. Space is limited to 20 people, by advance
reservation only. The fee per person is $50. If you would like our book,
Raptors, (which has illustrations of all of North America's raptors) added
to the course fee, select that option and the price for both is $60. Morning
refreshments will be provided.
