Hi again COBirders,

I banded another juv Northern Waterthrush this morning at Clear Spring Ranch,
the second of the season. The Ebird filter doesn’t like them before about Aug
15, but in the past few Augusts I’ve had about 10 before that date. Also 8
more Yellow Warblers today (47 this week - my best FALL is 68. I may eclipse
that!). Yellow Warblers have made-up about 65% of total catches this week.

Besides those it was real slow. There are just not many local birds around. Like
Dave L was saying, I think the vegetation here has been pounded, and there is a
little NEW growth coming in on bushes and trees with the recent rain, but most
trees are pretty bare from the numerous big hail storms. It remains humid,
muddy, and mosquito-friendly!

Good birding,
Steve Brown
