Hi All,
I am interested in creating my own business objects to validate form
entries, and in the tutorial pages of cocoon,
(http://xml.apache.org/cocoon/tutorial.html), such a reference is
given:

Hi again
In my haste I forgot to add my system specs:
Tomcat 4.0.2

mySQL 3.23.49
JDBC driver mm.mysql-2.0.11
JDK 1.3
Windows 2000 SP2
The problem is still stupifying me!!!
Cheers

silly question, but is your MySQL server actually running on port 9002 and
not the usual 3306? Can you access it using the standard mysql client? Have
you tried the mm.mysql test suite to access it via the Java routines? When
it's working properly there, then try with Tomcat/Cocoon. Database
Not a silly question at all - that was my problem!!! What an idiot - I
don't know why I was using 9002... After a night at the pub last night I
came to the same conclusion this morning and now it works.
Cheers for the response Peter!

Hello Andreas,
We are using the Oracle CLOBs because we can also use Oracle Text
(Intermedia) to do xpath type searches in the XML data it contains.
However, I can absolutely see a benefit to compressing the data in
many cases.

Yep, I'm pretty sure sitemap_xmap.java ends up in the work directory,
and it'll show up there each time you restart Tomcat. It's a dynamically
generated java representation of the sitemap in WEB-INF, so it's not for
editing (for those new to C2).

Best bet is to look at the WML example in the Cocoon documentation. Pay
special attention to the sitemap.xmap listing for the WML example.

Hi gang,
I'm trying to install Cocoon v2.0.2 with Tomcat v4.0.3 on Mac OSX v10.1.3

all this but I had to start somewhere so I leapt in.

I keep getting build aborts with C2.0.2

First I suspected my classpath may be too long, but this works
fine for me using the standard Sun compiler.
BTW I was hoping the Ant script would build the classpath
using filenames
Sorry, I x-posted this in the interest of both audiences.
When I run my (cocoon) build.xml from the commandline everything works fine.
When I try to do this inside of eclipse I get the following error:
