Its not a cocoon, but a XSL-Problem. Try the following:
xsl:template match=Member
xsl:for-each select=*
xsl:if test=position()1
xsl:value-of select=$delimiter/
/xsl:if
xsl:value-of select=./
/xsl:for-each
/xsl:template
