It saddens me that something so obviously intrinsic to this organization is
thought to be necessary. Usually an organization issues such a statement
because their practices along such lines have been called into question,
not because of the result of an election.

I'm usually more of an lurker than a commenter on this list, but I just
want to say that in this political climate, I think public stands for
diversity and against hatred are incredibly valuable and important,
whether or not any incidents have yet occurred. Thanks to Bohyun for
suggesting it.

Is it really necessary for this list to affirm that it stands by diversity? I
have not encountered any negativity on this email list myself. Are others
experiencing this? I am saddened to think that others are experiencing hurtful
or bullying
