• Provide subject matter expertise in records management for the County • Develop records management policies, procedures and other tools • Assist departments / divisions to improve their records management practices and comply with the Corporate Records Management Program requirements • Develop and deliver employee training in all aspects of records management Qualifications: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • Degree or diploma in records management (or a related field) from a recognized institution • Certified Records Manager (CRM) designation Plus • a minimum of 3 years current related experience, preferably in a municipal environment Or equivalent to that combination. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED: • knowledge of best practices for managing records in all media, of Canadian (federal) and Provide of Ontario legislation affecting the management of records and of standards for records management (e.g. Municipal Act, Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act) • knowledge of current records management technologies • demonstrated experience in developing and implementing records management policies and procedures including records classification schemes, file plans and records retention schedules • strong customer service philosophy and ability to exercise good judgment and tact when dealing with staff at all levels • proven analytical and decision-making skills • multi-tasking is required in this position, therefore ability to organize, plan, and manage projects to ensure compliance with defined deadlines is required • strong communication skills (written, oral, listening) and ability to persuade others • previous experience consulting with internal stakeholders to identify records management requirements and propose solutions • proven ability to develop and deliver training specific to records management • dedicated team player and proven ability to work independently with minimum supervision while prioritizing duties, carrying out multiple actions/projects simultaneously and meeting established deadlines • experience using The Ontario Municipal Records Management System (TOMRMS) preferred • valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle as travel is required.
