[CODE4LIB] update on Wednesday's vegetarian dinner
I got a call from the person in charge at Ophelia's, the restaurant we're going to. He is going to prepare a smaller menu for us to choose from, to help us all get food more quickly. Otherwise, he said some people would be finished eating before others got their food. I told him we were not all vegetarians. He said he would make sure to include choices for more than one vegetarian option, along with vegan, beef, chicken, and raw. Also, they were able to accommodate a few extra people over the original max, so it's possible you were moved up off the waiting list. http://wiki.code4lib.org/index.php/C4L2010_social_activities#Vegetarian_Dinner_.28Weds.2C_AKA_BBQ_night.29 See you then! And probably before then also! Anna

[CODE4LIB] No killing of the Search Button
Hello all On behalf of the Danes from the State and University Library of Denmark - Jørn, Michael, Mads myself, I'm sorry to say that we won't be attending code4lib 2010 after all. Jørn and Michael were to present Kill the Search Button, which they have put a great deal of time and energy into, so they are double plus sorry about it. This morning we were hit by a double snow-whammy: Our first plane was delayed due to snow and an incompetent snow mover forgot that not only does planes need to have a clear runway, they also need to be able to get to that runway. The extended delay made us miss our flight across the pond and while alternate routes could get us to Asheville, they could not do it in time for code4lib 2010. We had a fantastic time last year and we hope that the weather gods will be more cooperative next year. Have a great time, Jørn, Michael, Mads Toke

Sorry you all won't be able to make it! We'll try the next presentation (or one of the next presentations, if needed) on the presentation vote/results list to see if one of those would like to fill your slot. Hope to see you next year! Re: [CODE4LIB] change management system
Boheemen, Peter van peter.vanbohee...@wur.nl Never experienced any problem with FogBugz sending email. But do those emails follow the RFCs? In particular, do they have a full set of both MUST and SHOULD headers? Mail integration is fabulous. Ofcourse you can send email notifications, but it also accepts mails and automatically creates cases from them. It can even learn to categorize these cases as belonging to certain projects and also uses bayesian filtering to detect spam. You can send an email from a case and replies will automatically be linked to this case. If you send an email to fogBugz it will be added to the case when it finds the case number preceded by the word 'case' in the subject. It is certainly useful to try it out. [...] As mentioned, I've tried fogBugz and changed supplier to avoid having to use it. I'm not sure if it was fogBugz or the supplier that was broken. It doesn't much matter when it's costing money. RT will do almost all of the above (email notifications and receipt, automatic task creation, email from a case, subject-line linking and you can specify the prefix - watch the hilarity when two fogBugz systems email each other), but I think the project categoriser thing is an add-on and we use our regular spam filters (building it into each email-connected application seems wasteful).
