The Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the Code4Lib 2015 Conference Diversity Scholarship awardees. Through the generosity of CurateCamp, Equinox, Mx A. Matienzo, and the Code4lib Community, we were able to award five $1,000 scholarships to defray costs associated with attending the conference. We received a large number of applications from highly qualified candidates this year, and it was a humbling experience for the committee to select just five awardees. Basic Job Function: This position will have responsibility for deploying and managing virtual Linux servers, deploying and maintaining operational web applications that underpin the NCAR Library, NCAR Archives and other projects, and monitoring systems for performance and security. The web applications are a combination of SaaS on the cloud and open source applications deployed on the virtual server environments. The position will work with library and archives staff to support their daily use of these systems and identify new needs. Digital Curation Internship Food and Drug Administration Silver Spring Co-located in Silver Spring, MD or Virtual Internship available with the Discovery, Innovative Information & Technology Services Team in the Division of Administrative and Laboratory Support (DALS) in the Office of Science & Engineering Laboratories (OSEL) at the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Seeking a part-time Library & Information Science (LIS) graduate student to work with a dynamic, passionate and highly skilled team of LIS professionals in support of the OSEL Repository and possibly other projects during the Spring semester, with the option to start earlier. The internship provides the opportunity to gain high-level professional experience in repository development, digital curation, and research analytics (bibliometrics) in a federal research and development setting. This internship is located on the FDA White Oak campus in Silver Spring, Maryland, but virtual applicants will also be considered. We offer scheduling flexibility but require a minimum of 10 hours a week commitment.
