James E. Walker Library invites applicants for a full time, tenure-track 
position (#641030) at the assistant/associate professor rank for Discovery 
Services Librarian.


Under general direction of the Department Chair for Collection Development and 
Management, the successful candidate will be a member of a cross-department 
team responsible for the maintenance and administration of web-scale discovery 
services at Walker Library. The Discovery Services Librarian is responsible for 
the coordination of EBSCO Discovery Services that enables discovery of the 
library's information resources.


Responsibilities will include:
- As a member of the team, contributes to the leadership and coordination of 
the team responsible for the overall discovery environment in the library.
-Optimizes functions of the web-scale discovery service.
Participates in the administration, optimization, and integration of the 
library's link resolver, ezproxy, and other systems for discovery and access.
-Ensures optimum user experience through the use of data-informed metrics to 
continuously improve local implementation of the Library's discovery 
infrastructure.

The ALCTS Technical Services Workflow Efficiency Interest Group (TSWEIG) 
invites proposals for presentations or topics of discussion at its 2016 ALA 
Midwinter meeting in Boston. The meeting will be held on Monday, January 11th, 
from 1:00-2:30 PM.



TSWEIG's charge is to provide a forum to exchange information and discuss 
techniques in workflows associated with the evaluation, selection, acquisition, 
and discovery of library resources. Possible presentation and discussion topics 
include, but are not limited to:



-Streamlining workflows

-Project management

-Workflow collaboration between departments

-Training personnel

-Use of technology to improve workflows

Presentation or discussion proposals should include:

-Title

-A brief (300 words or less) summary of the topic

-Amount of time needed to present or discuss topic

-Name(s), position(s) title(s), and email address(es) of presenter(s)


Please email proposals or discussion topics by Monday, November 16 to Annie

The ALCTS/LITA MARC Formats Transition Interest Group seeks speakers to present 
at the ALA Midwinter Conference in Boston on Saturday, January 9th, 2016, at 
3:00-4:00pm. 

Possible topics for proposals include (but are not limited to):
-user stories from BIBFRAME early adopters and experimenters
-use of BIBFRAME with other ontologies (ex. SKOS, FOAF)
-BIBFRAME cataloging tools
-multi- or cross-platform BIBFRAME implementation
-alternatives to BIBFRAME for MARC linked data

Please email proposal abstracts (300 words or less) to co-chairs by Friday,

ACRL Instruction Section invites you to submit your online information
literacy tutorial, virtual tour, or other online library instruction
project for review and possible inclusion in PRIMO: Peer-Reviewed
Instructional Materials Online.

Submissions: November 14, 2015
