homebrew is what many of us use to install code packages on OSX.
mistym (Misty De Meo) is a frequent hanger outer in #code4lib, and has helped many of us with stuff (including homebrew). She's also one of the homebrew maintainers.
Here's a kickstarter from mistym, to help homebrew with some automated testing infrastructure, to better handle user code submissions.
It's notable that they're asking for money for actual equipment, not developer time reimbursement or anything. They're not asking for much.
