Hamilton College seeks a creative, talented, and energetic individual for
appointment to the role of Instructional Designer in the division of Library
and Information Technology Services (LITS).  We are looking for a collaborative
professional who has the ability to bring new ideas to the forefront, as well
as motivate and inspire others. The successful candidate will assist the
Research & Instructional Design Team, a blended team of librarians and
educational technologists, to advance innovative learning initiatives across
the curriculum. The Research & Instructional Design teams supports both
traditional and new models of student centered teaching, learning, and research
in the liberal arts. The Research & Design Studio (RDS), located in Burke
Library, provides the College community access to the expertise and
technologies needed for library research, 3D scanning and printing, virtual
reality, large format poster creation, and more. The team hosts a variety of
innovative programs, such as “Tinker Tuesday” maker-events and a Research &
Technology workshop series for faculty, students, and staff. Current team
initiatives also include participation in the HP-Educause Library of the Future
project, the implementation of Hamilton’s Digital Commons, and the ongoing
development of LITS’s Research & Digital Media Tutor program. The
successful candidate must possess strong research and technical skills,
excellent problem solving abilities, and a committment to life-long learning.

LITS is committed to the ongoing intellectual and personal development of its
members as professionals and good campus citizens. We encourage and support all
members to pursue professional development, acquire new skills, and achieve
certifications that lead to personal and professional excellence.

Originally founded in 1793 as the Hamilton-Oneida Academy, Hamilton’s
1,350-acre hilltop campus overlooks the New England-style Village of Clinton,

students the freedom to tailor their own liberal arts education within a
research- and writing-intensive framework. The highly selective college enrolls
1,850 students. Additional information about the College can be found at
