Folks,
I understand there's considerable animosity towards the "other"
codebranch that the new rfc's were written against, especially since our
input wasn't sought.
That said, is there a big difference in specs? Would it be possible to
bridge the gap in upcoming ircu releases (at least

I have been working a lot on the configuration system of gnuworld.
There are still a few issues to resolve in that area, but it is
looking pretty good.
Also, I have been modifying some code to support better portability.
GNUWorld now compiles on gcc 2.9{5,6}.*. gcc 3.0 changed a bunch of

NewNet (i think is the one, i'm sure its some NNet irc network)
is the only IRC network those RFC's actually refer to, and none OTHER (that
i know of, unless they are specifically using that networks server code). I
suggest you write the creator of those RFC's to find out where to get the

Dear Undernet Coder
Commitee.
I've read the RFC
2812 and 2813, and found out, that the RFC actually mentions setting exception
lists and invite lists in channels (+ie followed by a mask), and found out that
the ircu doesn't support this. I'm using the QuakeNet network which

You want routing-com, not coder-com.

Apparently, the Routing-Com thinks that there are enough .no servers. So,
unless they change that status, there is nothing you can do. -- Jonathan

That's a problem you need to contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
The undernet coder Committee has no jurisdiction over servers linking to
undernet.
Many thanks

Hello Coder-com
I was wonderring sins I'm interresed in linking a
irc server to undernet
if the server I will try to link will get declined
because I am from Norway.
I came in doubt when this was
written on the site for a application
from Norway:

Hmm. He has a valid point, however, I still think
that the HEAD_IN_SAND code should still be
implemented. I suggest leaving it up to the admins on
whether they use it or not. I don't think this is our
department to decide that. I personally would like to
see the HEAD_IN_SAND code developed.

Nice, I'm glad my .procmailrc automatically dumped this into my spamfolder, it's
too bad [most] everyone else had to get it, but then, if there were anti spam on the
lists, certain people would have to stop using their .edu open relays..
