The ircd when started keeps ahold of the controlling terminal. You might add:
daemon(1,0);
to the code so that it doesn't keep its controlling terminal when not in debugging
mode. :c)

Regardless of what
the parameters are it installs the binary to: ../~user/bin and the librarys to
../~user/lib.
