Well, no such consideration were made. It is merely happened as the initial

[jira] [Commented] (NETBEANS-747) CSS Editor does not recognize variable syntax

Matthias Bläsing commented on NETBEANS-747:
---

I want to see if I can implement instant rename and/or occurence highlighting.
As NB11 is right before its release this feature won't make it anyway in time.

For the "know the codebase": I knew the grammar location because I looked at it
in the past and integrated the donated grammar. The interaction with the
css.editor module was revealed, because my debugger lead me into the classes
while looking into the parser warning about the unknown "var" keyword.

[jira] [Commented] (NETBEANS-2213) Java Malware found in my netbeans cnd/modules

Matthias Bläsing commented on NETBEANS-2213:

I think you should contact your anti virus vendor:

Only the engines Avast and AVG find "something" (both are produced by the same
company). Given that clank is an api/interface to clang I'm not surprised to
see virus like signatures in this. By nature compilers do bytecode manipulation
and memory analysis. Debuggers poke memory of other processes. Everything I
would expect to see in trojans.

Having all other engines reporting a clean result indicates a false positive.

I think I have a possible update on this bug. Last time I tried (yesterday) to
debug a PHP project, I received an Exception report just after starting the
debugger (and the debugger still didn't start correctly). The exception was
exactly the same as [the one reported at the old NetBeans
bugtracker|https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=270672], except in
that case the exception was being caused by a SQL script execution.

I'm not sure the exception I got yesterday was actually related to the PHP
debug action, because the stack trace was quite hard to understand and I
couldn't save it, but its timing begot more than a heavy suspect.

Please consider also that the resolution of the above linked bug is not valid
anymore with Java 11 (because JAXB is not a module anymore) and that I'm
running NB with Java 11.

Do you think it's possible that current NB lacks JAXB dependency, but it uses
it only for communicating with xdebug (the DBGp protocol is XML based) and
maybe other minor things no one noticed until now?

Just curious...was this based on java 8 memory management changes (meta space
which kind of replaces/changes heap usage some) or was there something else?

> Currently NetBeans sets it max memory to the 1/5-th of physical memory or 1
> Gb whichever is lower. This is unnecessary as the recent JVM heap is max 1/4
> th of the system memory capping at 4Gb.
> I think the Java default would serve for the workloads nowadays.

Used your content to change those two files, would be good if you would
confirm.

Yes, they're needed in the release branch, not master. But then what is needed
in master? My understanding is that these changes go to master and release,
i.e., both of them. If not, what should go in master?
