Just check the dump you've attached. it says one thread is blocked on a
netbeans classloader and other is waiting for keychain support module for
another thread trying to do proxy authorization. I did my best, I think this
one is an incarnation of NETBEANS-58, there are some suggestions there it might
worth to try.

I think that you are wrong.
I am behind the same proxy with 11.1 and it doesn't have this issue.
If you are not planning to do any fixing, I have to go back to previous version.

> Unfortunately there is no current way to ask Gradle to tell which files a

I have often wished for a force-reload or force-rescan option on projects, both
because Gradle gets out of step, and because the NB file-tree gets out of step
with what's on disk, and the only way to force even a rescan of a src/main/java
dir to see what files exist on disk is to restart.

On the statement where the rename fails, in
platform/masterfs/.../FileName.java:rename line 67, SysInternals shows the
project directory, strangely it shows all the directories in the project. Some
kind of windows thing? Attaching screen shot of SysInternals window.

Ernie Rael edited comment on NETBEANS-3769 at 1/30/20 5:35 PM:
---

It doesn't seem to be jdk dependent. And it also fails with the locally built
from repo. I've attached a shorter version log.

Product Version: Apache NetBeans IDE DEV (Build 20200125-unknown-revn)
 Java: 1.8.0_241; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.241-b07
Runtime: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.8.0_241-b07
 System: Windows 7 version 6.1 running on amd64; Cp1252; en_US (nb)

An obvious thing is it's failing because something has the project directory
open, any ideas on debugging it?

Later today, I'll try to step into/around
org.netbeans.modules.masterfs.filebasedfs.fileobjects.BaseFileObj.rename(BaseFileObj.java:441)
any ideas on what to look for.

[jira] [Comment Edited] (NETBEANS-3769) Cannot rename project and directory

Ernie Rael edited comment on NETBEANS-3769 at 1/30/20 5:33 PM:
---

It doesn't seem to be jdk dependent. And it also fails with the locally built
from repo

Product Version: Apache NetBeans IDE DEV (Build 20200125-unknown-revn)
 Java: 1.8.0_241; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.241-b07
Runtime: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.8.0_241-b07
 System: Windows 7 version 6.1 running on amd64; Cp1252; en_US (nb)

Assuming it's failing because something has the project directory open, any
ideas on debugging it?

I've attached a shorter version log.

Later today, I'll try to step into/around
org.netbeans.modules.masterfs.filebasedfs.fileobjects.BaseFileObj.rename(BaseFileObj.java:441)
any ideas on what to look for. An obvious thing is that something has the
directory open. Any trick on finding it?

> We have a project that uses Maven (via a {{pom.xml}}) to build a NetBeans
> plugin and Gradle to perform some setup tasks like copying settings around
> (via a {{build.gradle}}).
> Using _Open Project_ it is now apparently random whether the project gets
> recognized as Maven project or Gradle project, as both "marker files" exist.
> But in order to build the project, you will need to import it as Maven
> project, so that the {{netbeans-maven-plugin}} gets detected; the
> {{build.gradle}} is just there for some setup tasks that need to be executed
> once after checkout.
> AFAICT, NetBeans does *not* offer a way to override the auto-detected project
> type yet, but should (at least if more than {{ProjectFactory}} claims that it
> recognizes the {{FileObject}}), but it would be nice if it did. (The
> workaround of just uninstalling the _Gradle_ plugin is not always an option.)
