[jira] [Updated] (NETBEANS-5276) FlatLAF Options Bugs

2021-01-26 Thread August Nagro (Jira)

 [
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-5276?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel
 ]

August Nagro updated NETBEANS-5276:
---
Description:
These screenshots show some places where the UI needs tweaking with the FlatLAF
theme.
The sizing of certain elements is off.

Product Version: Apache NetBeans IDE 12.2
Java: 15.0.1; OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM 15.0.1+9-18
Runtime: OpenJDK Runtime Environment 15.0.1+9-18
System: Linux version 5.9.16-200.fc33.x86_64 running on amd64; UTF-8; en_US (nb)
User directory: /home/user/.netbeans/12.2
Cache directory: /home/user/.cache/netbeans/12.2

Aside:

FlatLAF theme should be enabled by default. The MacOS theme
in particular is not very good with its use of dark Grey. FlatLAF also handles
high DPI well
on linux by considering the font size and not just GDK_SCALE. On a standard
Fedora 33 install with a
4k monitor, both Eclipse and default-theme Netbeans have very tiny
buttons/icons, bordering
on unusable. Despite it being 2021 and thus the year of the linux desktop, GTK
still does not
support fractional display scaling (Intellij works fine, like FlatLAF).
So the only option is to run eclipse or netbeans like `GDK_SCALE=2.0
./netbeans`, which
now makes the buttons/icons almost unusably big. Finally, FlatLAF should become
the default
theme because it looks great, is being actively maintained, and will provide
uniformity across
different platforms.

[jira] [Updated] (NETBEANS-5290) Creating Maven java EE 7 EJB Application creates nonsense project

2021-01-26 Thread Will Hartung (Jira)

 [
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-5290?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel
 ]

Will Hartung updated NETBEANS-5290:
---
Description:
To duplicate: New Project, Java Maven Project, Enterprise Application. Names
and options don't matter.

When trying to create a Java EE 7 Application project from Maven, the resulting
project(s) are corrupted and unusable.

Normally, you get a parent envelope project, and 3 sub projects: an EAR
project, an EJB project, and a WAR project (these are selectable within the
wizard).

Normally, the parent project is essentially a pom.xml and the sub projects.
Instead, the parent project is polluted with files and directories, while the
sub projects are essentially vacant.

Apparently this used to work in 11.2. The Jave EE 7 project has worked for a
long period before now.

There is an NPE during the Maven invocation, so this may well be related to why
this task is failing.

Attached is the resulting project, UI Log, Stacktrace, and IDE log.

There are other issues related to JavaEE 8 projects, but those problems are not
related to this one, and those problems were downgraded since the JEE 7
projects were reasonable workarounds. But not that is no longer the case, and
seems to be something deeper.

Attached a resulting artifact.

Steps to reproduce:

New Project -> Java with Maven -> EJB Module

Any name (TestEjbModule in this case) -> NEXT

Server: (can be anything)

Java EE Version: Java EE 8

Finish

The resulting project is a WAR project, not an EJB module.

Will Hartung commented on NETBEANS-4865:

Attached a resulting artifact.

Steps to reproduce:

New Project -> Java with Maven -> EJB Module

Any name (TestEjbModule in this case) -> NEXT

Server: (can be anything)

Java EE Version: Java EE 8

Finish

The resulting project is a WAR project, not an EJB module.

 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-5289
 Project: NetBeans
  Issue Type: Improvement
  Components: cnd - Accessibility
Affects Versions: 12.2
Environment: Mozilla Firefox browser, Windows 8.1, HP  laptop.
Reporter: Alan McGhee
 Attachments: Wordwrap-no.png

In on-line documentation of Apache Netbeans (
[https://netbeans.org/kb/docs/java/editor-codereference.html] ): Text does not
flow or word wrap upon change of window size or zoom-level.

All attempts to resize browser window, or to change zoom level in browser -

commit a0e6cd8f128372b864f42f7b216ebe0e8f83f009
Author: Neil C Smith
AuthorDate: Mon Jan 25 18:59:20 2021 +

Don't use local .m2 cache in build by default.

Always download Maven binaries by default rather than relying on local .m2
cache (issues with Jenkins builds).
Expose binaries.repos property so source repositories of binaries can be
configured, including local .m2 if desired.
