Dave D created NETBEANS-5785: Summary: Every upgrade breaks my window settings Key: NETBEANS-5785 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-5785 Project: NetBeans Issue Type: Bug Components: ide - UI Affects Versions: 12.2, 12.3, 12.4 Environment: *Product Version:* Apache NetBeans IDE 12.4 *Java:* 16; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 16+36-2231 *Runtime:* Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 16+36-2231 *System:* Mac OS X version 10.16 running on x86_64; UTF-8; en_US (nb) Reporter: Dave D Fix For: Next Every time I upgrade NetBeans for Mac, the IDE forgets all of my window settings (size, placement, floating Projects & Output tabs). It does ask me on first boot if I want to import all of my preferences from the old version, which is great; but I have to redo my window settings. -- This message was sent by Atlassian Jira (v8.3.4#803005) - To unsubscribe, e-mail: commits-unsubscr...@netbeans.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: commits-h...@netbeans.apache.org For further information about the NetBeans mailing lists, visit: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/Mailing+lists

[jira] [Commented] (NETBEANS-542) Cannot quit 2nd instance of Netbeans
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-542?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel=16424797#comment-16424797 ] Dave D commented on NETBEANS-542: - I believe I've found a workaround that does not require a force restart. The issue just occurred, and I quit the original instance of Netbeans. I tried to quit the new instance – no luck. Force quit failed, too. I then opened Netbeans as if it were not open at all, and the new instance opened. I was then able to quit the new instance. Hopefully the bug that is allowing multiple instances to start will be fixed soon. Until then, maybe this workaround will help other developers who are experiencing this problem. > Cannot quit 2nd instance of Netbeans > > > Key: NETBEANS-542 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-542 > Project: NetBeans > Issue Type: Bug >Affects Versions: 8.2 > Environment: java version "9.0.1" > Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 9.0.1+11) > Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 9.0.1+11, mixed mode) > ProductName: Mac OS X > ProductVersion: 10.13.3 > BuildVersion: 17D102 > > Model Name: iMac > Model Identifier: iMac17,1 > Processor Name: Intel Core i7 > Processor Speed:4 GHz > Number of Processors: 1 > Total Number of Cores: 4 > L2 Cache (per Core):256 KB > L3 Cache: 8 MB > Memory: 32 GB > Boot ROM Version: IM171.0110.B00 > SMC Version (system): 2.34f2 >Reporter: Dave D >Priority: Major > Fix For: 8.2 > > > Cannot quit 2nd (ghost) instance of application, or restart computer.
