run with 8,9,10 and read by an IDE running on 11+ will definitely fail? Do we
rely on implementation details all the way down (looking at the IBM mechanics).
Seems there is more involved here, e.g. definition of new .npss format and some
more compatibility logic? [~jlahoda] What do you think?

We can shrink the rectangle for the text without any problem, the messages will just be shortened and an ellipse (...) added at the end. Further details. It seems that the problem is that in JdbcGraphBuilder line 417
{code:java}
ClassRepository.lookupClass(STATEMENT_INTERFACE, 0){code}
is called but the original detected super interface for the loaded subclass was
in
{code:java}
ClassRepository.lookupClass(STATEMENT_INTERFACE, 2){code}
So it seems that with 10 (or 9 did not try this out) there is not only
classLoaderId 0 but in my sample at least up to id 2 ..
Anyone able to explain? Will keep digging.

Here the problem starts. For this detection the ClassRepository is queried to check if theClass is a subclass of Statement or Connection. But the Repository gives a back an empty list for clazz.getSubclasses() (line 419 in org.netbeans.lib.profiler.results.jdbc.JdbcGraphBuilder). So it seems the initialization has failed somehow (this works on Java 8). Any pointers appreciated. Just tried and fixed the stack trace coming up, but it seems this is only the
tip of the iceberg.
A simple grep shows the following occurrences. Seems we need a more broad fix

It looks like the CPU time is spent doing something in MasterFS, so probably something changed on disk and NetBeans was picking this up. Not sure if this intended if NetBeans is in the background. So my first quick idea is to check if you have something sitting on a slow filesystem (or even an antivirus watching NetBeans cache directories etc.). Anyone out there with more knowledge about the filesystem watching that is implemented in NetBeans?
