..yes you are right, but the only way that i know to avoid

"The page isn't redirecting properly"

...it is run to start the installation:

sudo /opt/open501/bin/startup.sh

...then doesn't show up that message
and can continue the installation.
The rest of tomcat4 information is to
tell you that the message doesn't show
up again using the script.

About to test tomcat4 in your Ubuntu 20.04
yes would be good if kurento user is "nobody"
and turn server uservname is also "nobody" and
/your_OM5_path_installation is nobody:nogroup

...yes, that is in any fresh OM 5.0.x installation on differents OSes.
But only the first time.

So, in the new tutorial for OM 5.0.1 on Ubuntu 18.04 i use tomcat4 and i do:

sudo /opt/open500/bin/startup.sh ...the first time only for installation.

...in tomcat4 is:

chown -R nobody:nogroup /opt/open501
export JAVA_OPTS="-Djava.awt.headless=true"
sudo --preserve-env=CATALINA_BASE --preserve-env=JAVA_OPTS -u nobody
${CATALINA_HOME}/bin/startup.sh

...the line "chown -R nobody:nogroup /opt/open501" is cause after to stop
Tomcat-OpenMeetings, only some times, the logs files in /opt/open501/logs
become from nobody:nogroup to root:root, and then Tomcat don't start saying
that catalina.out file is root:root.

I've tested many times this script after changing manually catalina.out file to
root:root (tomcat stopped), and after this run the script with success any time.

Is tested with two users (pc and iMac) making around 15 recordings from both
users in room, firefox and firefox, and no one error. Any recording is right.

The live OM 5.0.1 Ubuntu 18.04 have also this tomcat4 script.

Ok, you are right.
y
Testing #3134 on Ubuntu 18.04 in my HP pc server, and the client
FF in iMac (LAN) the recordings are right 800x600.

Client FF in iMac testing in demo.next the recordings are right 800x600

So my HP machine have something strange.

Then, for me the assumption issue don't exist and everything is goeing
right about OM 5-4

Thanks Maxim

...right now i been there and in "Recordings" is not any right recording, all
have red triangle,
except an "Interview", as told you.

But...in OM 5-4 #3132 installed in my pc, when select no 800x600 but 900x800
the recording it is right.
Also with 1000x1000. Someone said something about it in the list.
'Ve tried changing the resolution to high in:

https://om.alteametasoft.com:8443/next/signin;jsessionid=7EC75ACCE1C2C37C3073312505255B69

...but there no work.

Do you delete your recordings after make it? ...'cause there are only red
triangles except "Interview".

Maxim, the test that i made with #3123 everything works right except
the recordings, and the error i got it is the same that in:

https://om.alteametasoft.com:8443/next/

...so think, that if you resolve this error on this url, your new building
will be ok.

Petter, if am not wrong, you have the live iso installed.

OM 5.0.0-M3 that is in that live, it is configured with the mail server,
that is also installed in the live, to send invitation mails to localhost
only 'cause is not a real domain.

If you are using this mail server please say me and will tell you
how to configure it for sending mails to gmail, Yandex, etc.

Hi Peter-Otto,

I have the same turn and kurento configuration than yours
and is no problem with audio-video between two user at LAN,
both behind the same router.

Try turnning off the firewall, to see if is something about
ports, and be sure Coturn and kurento are on,

'Ve clean in all logs, and now attached to see if you find so many
errors, 'cause maybe could be a bad tomcat run script i used some days.
Now i use the normal of allways.

[^logs-2 OM 5-2779.zip]

Respect to kurento i made the normal installation you told me, it is running,
and don't make any configuration. Please let me know if is neccesary and
 how to do it.
