The "bracketed paste" thing is a bit of a red herring. It may solve the issue
you're encountering (assuming Nano implements it), but there is a more
fundamental issue that could be solved here without relying on special handling
of clipboard within both terminal application and terminal emulator. It's more
clearly described here:

http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?49176

When text containing a newline character is pasted, that newline character is
interpreted by Nano as ^J, resulting in weird behavior. Similar to the issue
with RDP where the clipboard is expected to contain Windows/DOS-style newline
sequences, Guacamole should translate newlines within pasted text to the same
character that would be sent for an enter keypress (^M).

Ok. Apparently it's a known problem ; i found a topic from mac-os users ;

[https://github.com/zeit/hyper/issues/1448]

One comment talk about, "bracketed paste mode" :
[https://cirw.in/blog/bracketed-paste] ; i think guacamole doesn't support this
mode (but i may misunderstood what it's about...)

[~nick.couch...@yahoo.com] : i'm using linux client (Firefox 63, or Chrome 70)
on Fedora 29, and the ssh server is also a linux (raspberry pi, and ubuntu
16.04 LTS) ;

I have a similar issue from my linux to windows (in a RDP connection) ; when i
copy/paste in the windows notepad, indeed the line terminators is not correct ;
and a hexdump on the file confirm that ; but nano behaves in a different way ;
it seems to transform the "newline" to a space ;

In the guacamole web interface, i open my ssh connexion, and then write the
following chars :

!clipboard_content.png!

I open a new file with nano and paste with the middle mouse button ; i save it ;

I open a new file with vi, and paste with the middle mouse button ; i save it ;

here the hexdump (see attached file)

  !hexdump.png!

So far, I can't reproduce this. I do see the Windows -> Linux newline issue,
but copying the text from this JIRA issue I see both lines present.

What client are you using? It appears to me that this probably has to do with
the difference between line terminators between Windows and Linux, so I'm
curious if your copy/paste operations are between two different platforms
(Windows and Linux) or the same (Linux and Linux, Windows and Windows, etc.)?
