Powering off with a kernel in panic.

i had a kernel panic (AUX flashing red constantly) but i couldnt power it off or reboot my NF from power button. Is that a problem or the power button cant function independently from the kernel ? GTA02v6 shr/testing2009-1rc1 Branch: shr/testing2010 2.6.29-rc3 201004140759 (filesystem version)
