One other thing I've noticed is that I can never get it to work by booting from NAND. I updated u-Boot in NAND to a 20080710 version (or whatever the latest was as of yesterday), so perhaps there's something there that's messing it up. I don't understand why/how that would be. I just know I tried

Lorn - Thanks for the image for the GTA01! I loaded it up on my phone, and it works like a champ without the SIM. When I put the SIM in, it starts up, and then quickly goes to a black text screen. It looks like the UI is crashing. Tapping the screen does nothing, and pressing the AUX

Chris, Have you tried re-re-booting? I've flashed the QTopia image a couple of times on my GTA02 and the first time it boots after a flash, it does what you described (a couple of seconds on the pretty screen, then black screen, AUX gives ^@). I hold down Power for several seconds till it kills
