Re: OpenMooCow 0.2
Can I invite you to put this on wiki? Like other ? http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Applications#Games Brenda Thomas White ??: While waiting for the Christmas puddings to cook this afternoon, I've been making a few updates to OpenMooCow. You can get version 0.2 from the same place as before: http://www.srcf.ucam.org/~taw27/openmoko/openmoocow/ Changes since version 0.1 are: - Moos when tilted either up or down (not just after tilting both ways like before). This seems to be what people expect, even though it's not quite what I remember genuine mooboxes doing. - The packaging has been fixed to depend on the things it needs. - You can now press the cow to make her moo. - Mooing still occurs even if the graphics can't be shown. Run the following on a terminal and your Freerunner will be mooing until the next reboot: $ nohup openmoocow And some improvements under the hood: - It should behave a little better if the accelerometers are sticky. - Code simplified and altered to make it easier to add support for other types of accelerometer. OpenMooCow won't alter your accelerometer parameters in any way, so you might have a configuration which it doesn't like. In particular, the threshold setting can cause problems. If this happens to you, try this: # echo 0 /sys/devices/platform/lis302dl.2/threshold Comments or abuse to this address as ever, Tom ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

I'm also noticing today that the batget utility is blocking (using top), sometimes several instances get caught up and the phone starts to slow. removed the battery module (its utterly useless in illume anyway) and things run much better. microsSD doesn't mount any more!
Dear Group, I know that this topic isn't new to that list but after spending a lot of time searching the archives, I decided to re-initiate it cause didn't find a solution and got rather confused :( I recently installed a new Transcend microSD 8GB card and FR did recognize it without any problem! After that, needed the card for soemthing else, did re-partition it on a debian box (fdisk, mkfs) and when I re-inserted in FR it doesn't get recognised any more! [Qt Extended]Graphical server doesn't boot
I'm using Qt Extended 4.4.2 flashed into the phone (Freerunner). For weeks it has worked perfectly (or the most perfect a distribution can work on the neo). This morning, it went out of battery. I don't know if it booted correctly, since I was sleeping. When I have plugged it into the computer, it doesn't boot. Well, at least not Qt Extended. The boot process goes well, it casts the same amount of error as usual, but at one point this happens: Starting at daemon atd. splash-write: appplet not found Segmentation fault Then, the screen is deleted and you only see a text cursor flashing, like it was loading a graphical server. From time to time, it seems it try to bring some screen, but fails (I think I cannot explain better). Net is initialized, so I can ssh into my phone, but I don't know what to do. I have no found sytem logs, nor graphical server log, nor anyother useful log. I have looked in the list, but no one seems to have the same problem. Any advice? Re: [OM2008.8][testing] qpe no longer respects QTOPIA_PHONE_DEVICE ?
There is no problem with QPE and the QTOPIA_PHONE_DEVICE var. The problem is that gsm0710muxd gets started twice (via rc.d init scripts AND the dbus request inside 89qtopia) and QPE gets a bogus ptsvar and falls back to /dev/ttySAC0. I removed the rc.d startup of the muxer because dbus is capable of launching it upon request: update-rc.d -f gsm0710muxd remove And it all works (GSM+GPRS)! :) Citando William Kenworthy [EMAIL PROTECTED]: I'm also noticing today that the batget utility is blocking (using top), sometimes several instances get caught up and the phone starts to slow. removed the battery module (its utterly useless in illume anyway) and things run much better.
