NOt sure if this has been said but the text says 'click validate' when
the only button is 'OK' (on the first screen there's also 'Cancel').
So could you make sure the text is correct.

Greetings OM-heads,
I'm currently in Trieste for a seminar and brought my Freerunner here
with me from the US.
I bought a Vodaphone SIM which doesn't seem to work in my GTA02, but
works in just every other phone I've put it in.
Can anybody recommend a Euro SIM/carrier that is known to work
Hi Risto
That I don't have time to work on opkg.org doesn't mean that it is going
to die.
I will still work on it, but there won't be as much progress than we
have seen the past few month.
A blogpost is in the pipeline (not published yet, but will be tomorrow)
and I'll think about

That's a lie.
You can't brick your modem at all, as it has a ROM bootloader.

I am having some problems with opkg, first of all after flashing 2008.9 on
my phone wifi is working but it seems to have problems to connect to my
router which has mac filtering turned on (is this kind of network even
supported?). To get around this issue I connected to my freerunner to my PC

Hi,
That looks like a dns / resolv.conf issue.
Have a look at this wiki page.
http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/USB_Networking#DNS
Once you have fixed your dns issues do a opkg update again.
Thanks,
Bannon

Dear community,
I came across this post [1] on planet.openmoko.org. It explains in
Chinese how to compile the latest Andy kernel.
I translated it into English, mainly to practice my Chinese a bit, and
added it to the wiki [2]. However there's already some info on the wiki
on how to compile

Alternativly it's because you have both usb networking and wifi up and
the default route goes to usb which does not does not route you on to
the internet?
You can fix it with the route command, something like:
route del default (repeat till none left)
route add default gw 192.168.0.1 eth0
I also think I read somewhere on the mailing lists that sending sms's
from the command line is possible.
There was a script for 2008.X that would launch the GUI app to send.
With FSO it's trivial with the dbus utility.
