Re: Intone lockup
Hi, So renaming all my .ogg files to .oga will magically make things work better? That's hardly a high price to pay. No - now intone should add .ogg and .oga files it finds when it scans the selected directory. If you've already added a directory once - the ogg files wouldn't have been added. Re-scan. :P I believe I have Intone 0.24. Well, I thought this version should not have the hang at the end prob. Let me recheck. Hi, Was travelling yesterday - hence no reply. can you send the output of both mplayers playing the same m4a file? just to try to understand if it can be improved ;P Well - the same files were played using both mplayers. I'll send you a pvt message with a link to the m4a file I was using. And I realise - I was using this version mplayer_dev-SVN-r29155-4.1.2_armv4t.ipk. So probably not the most efficient one. Will post results with the -tremor-low version. It wasn't there 2 days back was it? Maybe i missed it. Thanks again. Re: Intone lockup
Hi, Can you tell me which version of itnone you're using and your roots ? There was a (rarely) occurring bug in release 0.22 - that caused lockups at the end of playing a song. Basically, say a song is 100.2 secs long. It becomes 100 (integer) secs in intone. After 100 secs, intone waits for mplayer to tell it the seek position at 101 secs. But mplayer has stopped playing the song at 101secs. So, the lockup. You'll have to 'killall mplayer' also after 'kill -9 ' to get audio out. Intone needed little convincing to get mplayer to play ogg files. Just the realisation that .oga is the newer name ;-D -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/Intone-lockup-tp2618845p2619498.html Sent from the Openmoko Community mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

Hi. I've been trying Intone, and after convincing it to work with my OGGs, it locks up and has to be kill -9'd whenever I go to the next/previous track. This can be ignored. But before suspend, you don't need to use the poweron script (in fact you probably shouldn't use it before suspend). Just go to the bluetooth settings and give it a go. (install instructions and script updated on 2090410: see below) New progress/bugs: All Ok: - 20090401: 2.6.28 ok (even 2.6.29-rc2 ok) - 20090401: alarms (using atd from http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/armv4t/base/, since no newer package exists), normal + when suspended - 20090401: wake up when receiving sms - 20090401: call + echo check - 20090401: missed call bug - 20090401: duplicate sms thing: solved - 20090401: mail ok - 20090401: wifi ok - 20090403: voice notes (see my mail/patch) ok - 20090404: usb cable handling: ok (mailed a patch to Filip, I hope he integrates all the 2.6.28 patches and commits them) - 20090404: bluetooth ok (need to downgrade to bluez3 and not use bluez4, install script updated accordingly) - 20090410: voicemail number is now saved across reboots (see http://trac.karadog.net/qt-extended-improved/ticket/15) - 20090410: snooze function works correctly now for repetitive alarms (see http://trac.karadog.net/qt-extended-improved/ticket/27) Problems (more like small nuisances now): - sms stay on SIM as well as on phone ==> All sms's are stored on the phone *and* on the SIM. I don't think that this is wanted behaviour (deleting an SMS only works on the SMS's stored on the phone). See http://trac.karadog.net/qt-extended-improved/ticket/29 - if you set the time back to something in the past, the clock service crashes and you need to restart qtextended if you want to use the clock again - if you reboot, wlan is "online" and you need to put it offline (can cause battery issues) - second call incoming needs to be checked if working ok - bluetooth is not working totally ok, only after initial boot it works, not after suspend/resume. Seems to be kernel/bluez3 version combo issue ... - if you try to delete the "Wireless Lan", the system crashes ... cool huh, a crashed phone? Install instructions: = download the script http://users.telenet.be/liedekef/openmoko_install.sh , read the comments at the top and then execute the script on your openmoko (after having flashed the device and made sure internet works). For those who just want to replace their existing QtE: just download the QtE compressed file and replace your existing QtE with it: http://users.telenet.be/liedekef/qte_20090410.tgz Enjoy! I think in the end it is all related to the fact that the incoming SMS's stay on the SIM as well. Probably some sim-cards will always give the full list of SMS's when the list is requested using AT+CMGL So I've created this ticket with a suggested fix and a comment with something to look at as well: http://trac.karadog.net/qt-extended-improved/ticket/29 All comments on this ticket/fix are welcome. Re: Tasks Client for FR
try the apps by knj - there's a google calendar app (should be adding other backends later), and an e-mail client, with support for imap http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Knjrepository Thanks for the hint. I tried it under shr : First problem : >r...@om-gta02 /opt/knjmokocalendar $ knjmokocalendar >-sh: knjmokocalendar: not found In fact the launcher starts with bash shebang, instead of sh Then i faced a couple of missing dependency : - knjrbfw - libsqlite3-ruby1.8 - libglade2-ruby1.8, At this point, i was able to run ./knjmokocalendar.rb (but still not using the shortcut). I set up my login/pass, and ics url. Tried to sync, i had to install ruby1.8-googlecalendar and ruby1.8-openssl. ruby1.8-openssl needs libssl0.9.7, when on shr-unstable you have libssl0.9.8. Let's try with --nodeps, and ln -s /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8 /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.7 and ln -s /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8 /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.7. I also had to install ruby1.8-rexml. Now it seems fine, excepted that i have a name resolution error. Probably not related to the app itself. -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/Tasks-Client-for-FR-tp2609094p2616238.html Sent from the Openmoko Community mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

unstable andy-tracking kernel
Hi all, untill a couple of days ago, I was able to download the latest andy-tracking kernel from http://downloads.openmoko.org/distro/unstable/daily/ but for some reason (maybe because a build fails, but not according to tinderbox (http://tinderbox.openembedded.net/packages/469221/), these kernel images aren't there anymore. And in all older directories, the andy-tracking was removed on a daily basis as well (was like this always I think). Is there another place for me to download the latest andy-tracking bin file? First, because I didn't look very hard to find something close enough to what I needed :-) What I needed was a protocol to synchronize a set of "things" organized in folders, with the ability to store the same "thing" in several places, in realtime if connected but with an offline mode, with some kind of access permissions, and suitable both for atomic messages like calendar event and realtime flow like voip. None of syncml nor opensync fits this description. Starting from stracth is very unprofessional, but being bound to nothing is a virtue when you just want a prototype to test new ideas. ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

Re: Tasks Client for FR
Hi, Please correct me if I am wrong (I am just a user): I understood there was a rewrite / adaptation of the pimlico dates and tasks to fit the look and feel of Openmoko distribution. So the applications openmoko-dates2 and opnemoko-tasks2 were put in the OM distributions and repositories. But * I think/heard that these openmoko versions were not the last version of the original pimlico project or do not follow the evolution of the pimlico project (I may be wrong). Now the version number of pimlico is 4.6. * Now, you can install the openmoko versions only on OM distributions. On SHR, I tried to use the Angstrom repository as I wrote in the wiki : http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Pimlico , but It is not a correct way because if you use this repository under SHR without breaking the installtion. So I opened a ticket in the SHR trac for this... http://trac.shr-project.org/trac/ticket/376 The best would be someone with the knowledge, time and will to compile it to an "simple" ipk and then put it on opkg.org On debian, you can easily test them with apt-get install dates tasks About syncing and data from the web: * with the last version, I think you can open a ics file from the web * the 4th tool from pimlico is about syncing.. I hope it is just a matter of time http://www.pimlico-project.org/sync.html * the projet PISI would like to implement the support of ICS files. If so, pbm solved ! http://www.opkg.org/package_191.html I am in contact with them to speak about pimlico * the data format of the pimlico suite is based on the Evolution project http://projects.gnome.org/evolution/ There are tools to sync the data withy the well-known syncml protocol http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/syncevolution?s[]=syncml So someone must be able to adapt / port it on the moko ? * you can copy / paste the ics files located here : ~/.evolution/calendar/local/system/calendar.ics Ok, this is a very rough way, but it is ok if you only modify For now, it has no alarm support. Personally, I do not care, but people might. As a conclusion I would like to say that I use my freerunner as a professional mobile computer, and I am really missing simple ways to read / modify /sync the calendar and tasks and contacts ! Why not propose a cofundos project to help developper improve pimlico (and its sync tool) and PISI ? I hope many will answer and propose their vision / tips / softwares PS : I tried gpe-calendar, wich seemed great, but it does not handle big calendars witouht crashing (it becomes slower and slower and then you can do nothing more 2009/4/10 Robin Paulson > 2009/4/9 kimaidou : > > There is the great project pimlico which provides "dates" = calendar and > > "tasks". > > http://www.pimlico-project.org/dates.html > > > > These 2 apps are great because : > > * they use the evolution data storage way.
