Re: [shr-t] Contacts crash upon startup
I'm have the lite image with no additional installed packages, and I have been experiencing various crashes of the contacts app, sometimes just scrolling, sometimes if you just remove a field label and save. It started to just crash on startup so I rebooted and now it starts but is completely blank. If someone who knows what I can provide to help debug this then let me know. cheers Denis On Fri, Dec 11, 2009 at 1:23 AM, Bernhard Reiter ock...@raz.or.at wrote: Hi, I'm running shr-testing with up-to-date opkg upgrades and pisi-imported contacts (from evolution exported vcf). I have to admit that I don't really know how to provide meaningful debug information (how do I start Contacts from the terminal?), so I'd be glad for any hints. On a side note, my sms messages are attributed to the wrong people, ie a message i got from A's phone number shows up to be by B. The issue might also have to do with encoding, as the names in the messages include strange entities -- and those entities are different every time I start the messages app (eg instead of Dr. Someone, it's sometimes x9 Someone or anglesquare Someone or whatever...) And, finally, up to recently, every time I made a call, the screenlock showed Diane D. is calling -- though there's no one with that name in my contacts. Whatever relict is that? Anyone interested to collaborating?;-) With which software do you design the dockingstation? I have some experience with blender. If you use it, I could help. I didnt modelled the iphone docking station. If I would model a docking station then it would be definietly an openmoko one, not an iphone one. I just printed the model out. Still you can help modelling a docking station. I have something in mind, that the mouth of the docking station would be at least two times bigger than the phone periphery, and would have a form of a cone. So I could basically just throw the phone into, and it would automagically plug itself in. I guess that this is very hard to achieve, because the dockingstation then has to be designed and printed very exactly. But I have some improvements in my mind :) I need to create rerouting now and to test it in real life I don't have any idea, how the code looks like, but I guess, that you use gps-positions as heuristic and distances as edge-weights. That means that you always get the shortest path. If you want to get the fastes path, then you have to use timevalues calculated by possible speed and edge-length. With openstreetmaps that can be difficult, because many roads don't have any speedsproperties. You often only can use the roadtype depending on country to guess the speed. Maybe you used this, but in a first shit, I guess that you don't. I hope these ideas can help you improving your tool. Good idea for other things - Was: Homemade USB gamepad (NeoPlay)
Hi, it is an interesting idea, but also it would be a starting point to create additional power contacts to the adapter. Then a simple charging housing could be created to get rid of my troubles in my car adapter. I always need to fiddle the USB cable into the neo and this could then avoided. What about such an adapter? Lothar Am 08.12.2009 um 20:04 schrieb ANT: Hello! I developed a USB gamepad addon for Openmoko phones. It is tiny and thin. dbus deb with increased timeout
hi, after hours of struggling with debian's djungle of ways to build a package i finally succeeded to cross compile dbus with an increased timeout. reason: for months now i was fighting with zhone taking several attempts (4 to 5 ususally, often at least one restart of frameworkd and sometimes even reboots) to pop up the pin dialog. after installing the newly built packages, the dialog popped up at the first try. i restarted to be sure and again it was there the first attempt. for those struggling with the same problem in debian, here's the debs: http://www.ginguppin.de/node/29 ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

Sms sentry. Put that application, or a similar one, in every light image we got: It will reply the GPS coordinates when texting sentry:location to moko. 2. When another sms is send we should be able to put the volume to max and play a voice saying: PLEASE RETURN THIS PORTABLE, IT IS LOST AND THE OWNER TRIES TO FIND IT. I'd be happy to record that voice. And display contact information on the screen delivered by sms. What do you guys think?
