a VNC server in the FR gadget, created a small icon on the desktop like
this:

Excellent idea. Qtopia already has a VMWare image that you can use to
develop Qtopia applications [1] but I haven't heard of anything else. I
would love to see this.

Just reinstalling debian, and the fso stage fails with:

Sounds like the usb network module isn't loaded. All newer kernels has
these modules no more compiled into the kernel and maybe it was
forgotten to add to the /etc/modules file in the actual FDOM version.
