SorryI thought I had ffmpeg installed. Apparently not. Still, audio
doesn't work (same error as above). Doesn't look great. Setting -vf
rotate=1 -fps 13 improves things a bit, though.

A key-word browser would be great. I think many of the browsers available
should be able to know what to do if we browse to this location?

mplayer from shr-u worked for me (though maybe it was from mrmoku?). I
didn't get any sound, but I suppose it has nothing to do with mplayer. I'm
having problems with sound from a few different apps.

This is correct for uboot, though there are a few possible complications:
* Android will want to use 2 partitions, by default the first two, plus the
NAND. Then again it will (by default) install a forked Qi too, which doesn't
multiboot well anyway.
* Certain ext3 formatting options prevent uboot reading the partition, but I
haven't checked which ones. My gentoo box makes unreadable ones by default,
but fedora makes readable ones.

This is itself wrong, as I'm booting kernels from beyond the first 2G, and
probably beyond 4G.

for general usage the enlightenment keyboard would be set to none.
then if i run... lets say FFalarms it would enable the enlightenment

Hi,

Aditya Gandhi schrieb:

I think the maximum is seven without extra efforts.
A possible setup could look like this:

Device
Number Media /dev Partition Type Content
31, 6 NANDmtdblock6 Dist1
179, 0 SD-Card mmcblk0(raw device)
179, 1 SD-Card mmcblk0p1 primary partition Dist2
179, 2 SD-Card mmcblk0p2 primary partition Dist3
179, 3 SD-Card mmcblk0p3 primary partition Dist4
179, 4 SD-Card mmcblk0p4 extended partition logical partitions
179, 5 SD-Card mmcblk0p5 logical partition Dist5
179, 6 SD-Card mmcblk0p6 logical partition Dist6
179, 7 SD-Card mmcblk0p7 logical partition Dist7

Off course you can choose a different
primary/logical ratio.

> Is there a guide to multiple OS on freerunner?

I just had a look. A lot of the information
is just wrong or at least outdated. I now
understand why most users install qi ;-)

Various efforts have been made to supply a
bootmenu for qi (e.g. by using kexec).
I don't know whether they where successful.

I still stay with u-boot for my multi dist
setup, cause it has a boot menu. It's only
constraint is that the kernel need's to be
within the first 2G of the SD-Card (I just
prepared a special subdirectory on the first
partition). Booting kernels >2M need special

I prefer literki, too. But I went back to qwo instead. Reason is:
Even if I tried to exchange the illume keyboard with a dummy skript, the
enlightenment error occured as if you chose none as keyboard.

The only thing you can do, seems to be waiting for a fix in enlightenment.

[shr] terminal command for keyboard setting

2009-10-24 Thread jeremy jozwik
hello list. for many months ive been using literki as my keyboard. in
order to get the maximum benifite out of it i disabled the elementary
keyboard. trouble is that blasted elementary error on full screen.

there are only one of two of my packages that generate this error, so
that got me thinking is there a way to set the none keyboard via a
terminal command?

that way i can just make the desktop icon read a script file that
enables the keyboard for what ever packages crash the most.

It is very easy to run two: one on the internal flash and one of the
first partition of the SD card, with Qi as the NOR bootloader. Then
pressing the power button alone will boot the SD distribution, and
pressing AUX+power will allow you to boot the NAND distribution.

More distributions are possible, but more complicated to set up and
select between.

> And which is the most preffered for starting developement.

If you are thinking of Python, they are all equivalent. If you are
thinking of C, I would say that Debian has a slight edge, because you
can just install gcc and use the normal toolchain on the FR itself.

sad, that not my only

So if you are typing an SMS in shr-messages or paroli's sms window,
then it has the

Also it seems suspend-resume cycle is not even required, only change

not the latest shr unstable mplayer (MPlayer 1.0rc2-4.1.2).

opkg is not installed twice: It's installed once and one newer version is
availlable in the repository. To list the installed packages run

opkg list_installed | grep opkg

[SHR-U] opkg displays some packages twice

2009-10-24 Thread Jens Seidel
Hi,

I have some opkg issues recently.

r...@om-gta02:~# opkg list | grep opkg
libopkg-dev - 0.1.6+svnr215-r4 - Opkg Package Manager
libopkg0 - 0.1.6+svnr215-r4 - Opkg Package Manager Library
libopkg0 - 0.1.6+svnr215-r2 -
opkg - 0.1.6+svnr215-r4 - Opkg Package Manager
opkg - 0.1.6+svnr215-r2 -
opkg-collateral - 1.0-r1 - opkg configuration files
opkg-collateral-dbg - 1.0-r1 - opkg configuration files
opkg-collateral-dev - 1.0-r1 - opkg configuration files
opkg-dbg - 0.1.6+svnr215-r4 - Opkg Package Manager
opkg-dev - 0.1.6+svnr215-r4 - Opkg Package Manager

As you can see opkg reports that e.g. opkg is installed twice. Also
list_upgradable marks this package upgradeable:

r...@om-gta02:~# opkg list_upgradable | grep opkg
libopkg0 - 0.1.6+svnr215-r2 - 0.1.6+svnr215-r4
opkg - 0.1.6+svnr215-r2 - 0.1.6+svnr215-r4

The problem arised once I followed
http://www.mail-archive.com/community%40lists.openmoko.org/msg54860.html
and tried to manually update libfso-glib0 to be able to upgrade
fsousaged. I temporarily removed all packages depending on libfso-glib0
and I'm no longer able to install them again:

r...@om-gta02:~# opkg install tangogps
Installing tangogps (0.9.6-r1) to root...
Downloading
http://build.shr-project.org/shr-unstable/ipk//armv4t/tangogps_0.9.6-r1_armv4t.ipk
Collected errors:
 * ERROR: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for tangogps:
 *  libfso-glib0 (>=
0.2.1+gitr47+7608c8d98bb65bb5beca6621eb86920b71df1bc9) *

Any hints? (No upgrading libfso-glib0 does not help as I would get similar
errors mentioning that libfso-glib0 0.2.0 is not installed.)

I think it's time to either start using geoclue or add a location API in FSO
that takes different location providers into account.

Phonelog uses calls backend of opimd. So everything is saved within opimd.

I think it used to exist a file called 'phonelog.db' in the past? I can't
fond that any more. Where is phonelog saving the current data? How can I
export them, view or delete?

without pending_setup is deprecated and strongly discouraged

[QtMoko] Re: OT: SIM contact limitations; GSM vs. CDMA

I have been wanting to reply to this message for weeks, but have been too
busy. :/ Anyway, I have been using QtMoko v11 on my FreeRunner (FR) since
late September. I thought QtMoko (well, actually Qt Extended Improved
(QtEI)) must be storing the contacts I added on my FR instead of on my SIM
because I could have multiple phone numbers, each with its own type, per
contact. However, I discovered something cool after I moved my SIM back to
my Nokia 6103b: QtMoko/QtEI actually stored the contacts I added on my SIM,
but it works around the 1-typeless-phone-number-per-contact SIM limitation
by appending an optional space, a ‘/’, then two letters to indicate the type
of the phone number, e.g., “Brolin Empey /hm” for my home mobile phone
number (“personal mobile” would probably make more sense because I almost
always have my cell phone with me, even when I am at work.), “Brolin Empey
/hp” for my “home phone” number (‘p’ = generic type, which I use for
landlines), “Brolin Empey /bp” for “business phone”, “Brolin Empey /bm” for
“business mobile”, and so on. I used QtMoko/QtEI’s convention when naming
the contacts I added to my SIM while using my SIM in my Nokia 6103b, then
moved my SIM back to my FR: QtMoko/QtEI groups the separate SIM contacts as
a single contact with multiple phone numbers! I was very impressed when I
discovered this because I thought it was a clever workaround of the SIM
contact limitations. The length of the name of SIM contacts is still
limited to 18 characters, though, which means relatively long contact names
still get truncated, but I can live with that if it means I can keep all of
my contacts on my SIM! I have never (been unfortunate enough to have?) had
a CDMA phone (actually, I did not get a cell phone until 2008, so both my
cell phones are GSM. I have not had any non-GSM cell phones.), but CDMA
seems very lame and/or crappy compared to GSM because all the subscriber’s
information is stored in the phone instead of on a removable device like a
SIM. Of course, both the Apple iPhone and the FR are GSM-only (unless there
is a CDMA version I do not know about?). AFAIK, there are also GSM phones
that can use at least 2 SIMs at once, but I guess there is no equivalent for
CDMA? Some CDMA phones probably have a flash memory card slot, but is there
a standard/common format for storing e.g., contacts and SMSes on a flash
memory card instead of in the phone?
