External blkid library not found

2010-01-21 Thread Vaudano Luca
Hello,

I'm trying to compile a simple Elementary application against
SHR-Testing with the bitbake system.
I stuck on this error:
http://lists.uclibc.org/pipermail/uclibc/2009-August/042875.html

I installed libblkid-dev and uuid-dev packages but anything changed.

Any hint?

Thanks in advance
Luca

Did you add a DEPENDS on blktool to your bitbake recipe?

Then you should do it. You need the libary in your bitbake tree and not on

Does your application depend on blkid directly or just transitively because of
some other dependency?

I've seen the same error just because some lib was pulling -L/usr/lib64
to linker cmd and there (on my buildhost) was other version of that library
but built against blkid (and library in staging was not depending on that).

because they are inofficially patched ones.
i guess i could send an enhancement request to increase the timeout by

imo, it would be far better to have dbus read the timeout from a config

Re: [wikireader] Rudimentary support for several wikis

2010-01-21 Thread Tom Bachmann
Alright. The latest commit has a ChangeCollection script. Use it like this:

ChangeCollection.py --from=none --to=1 --prefix=/path/to/image/pedia
--dat-offset=${next free dat}

where ${next free dat} is the first unused number in the .dat namespace
of the english wiki. This will take a long while (it has to decompress
and recompress all articles!), but it is probably faster than
re-rendering everything (on my laptop it takes about 40 seconds to patch
1000 articles).
Next copy the pedia.idx, pedia.pfx, pedia.fnd, pedia.hsh, pedia?.dat of
the english wiki to your image, renaming to pedia0.idx, pedia0.pfx,
pedia0.fnd, pedia0.hsh (the pedia?.dat can keep their names). If you now
boot my kernel, you should be able to change between both wikis, as
described in my first post.

Please tell me if everything works as expected.

Well, I'm not Rui ;-) but I've also wished for some time now that browsers
would switch to a bookmark system where I can tag a link with a varying number
of tags.

E.g., I'd like to tag a German News site like www.zdf.de with German and
News and for example www.bbc.co.uk with English and News. So far I can
only put them together in a folder News or I can group them by language. If I
could have a whole set of tags and tag each link individually I could then
maybe have intelligent groups that would look for links with certain tags,
e.g. english news sites require a link to have the tag English and News.

If you're familiar with Aperture on the Mac (or Lightroom should have a similar
concept) then you'd probably know what I mean.

Currently I have a lot of bookmarks in folders and sometimes I wish a bookmark
could have two different categories at the same time. I currently end up
sometimes with bookmarking the same page twice in two different folders. Having
tagging capabilities would help me to organize my gazillion of bookmarks better.

Try pyphonelog, it reads the call history from opimd.

the one currently in pkg-fso seems unable to cope with the format opimd
delivers, but the one in the shr feeds works better.
better meaning, it does not start by default due to
$ phonelog
/usr/bin/phonelog:758: Warning: 'with' will become a reserved keyword in
Python 2.6
   File /usr/bin/phonelog, line 758
 with open(CONFIGURATION_FILE,'w+') as f:

i don't quite understand, why a warning will produce a syntax error and
moreover, why the very same lines (the last two) in the debian version
work.
for the moment i commented those two lines, but since phonelog depends on
it to determine new calls, it is not a viable solution.

And another failing strcmp :P (The segfaults I reported so far where
strcmp caused, too). I just checked the source. I guess you have a
contact with an empty Name field. Can you check
 [1] /etc/freesmartphone/opim/csv-contacts.txt for such contacts?

indeed there where a few. replacing it with a generic string makes
contacts work again.

i don't quite understand, why a warning will produce a syntax error and
moreover, why the very same lines (the last two) in the debian version
 work.
for the moment i commented those two lines, but since phonelog depends on
it to determine new calls, it is not a viable solution.

That's just python2.6 syntax, and you're using python2.5. I'll try to
look tommorow to make pyphonelog compatible with python2.5,

ah, I'm sorry I forgot to upload the patched package. I didn't
notice so far, since nobody ever complained about it. You can
add with support in python2.5 by inserting the following
somewhere at the top:

from __future__ import with_statement

the one from pkg-fso has exactly the same two lines and python does not
complain.

already there.
and while i was starting the pkg-fso one to describe the problems with the
listing of names i experienced before, everything is ok now. confusing ...

Re: External blkid library not found

2010-01-21 Thread Vaudano Luca
Please check if that's the case (check/send that error - linker command).

The log says:

../shr-testing/tmp/work/armv4t-oe-linux-gnueabi/e2fsprogs-libs-1.41.8-r0/e2fsprogs-libs-1.41.8/configure
--build=i686-linux --host=arm-oe-linux-gnueabi

--infodir=/usr/share/info --mandir=/usr/share/man
--disable-libblkid --disable-libuuid
--enable-elf-shlibs
...

and the error is

checking for blkid_get_cache in -lblkid... no
configure: error: external blkid library not found
FATAL: oe_runconf failed

The strange thing is that if I try to launch the previous command from
the console works, but the bitbake gives me an error. (Maybe because
the three dots in the end)

Thanks

the ellipsis is only there to make the output look nice.
i rather suspect your oe environment to miss a path, where the lib would
be found.
check if configure has an option to set the path.
