git.openmoko.org / GTA02 kernel sources?

2010-04-21 Thread Dr. H. Nikolaus Schaller
I tried to fetch the latest kernel sources from
http://git.openmoko.org/?p=kernel.git;a=summary
  for learning something, but it appears that the server has some
failure:

iMac:tmp hns$ git clone git://git.openmoko.org/git/kernel.git linux-2.6
Initialized empty Git repository in /private/tmp/linux-2.6/.git/
remote: fatal: Out of memory, realloc failed
remote: aborting due to possible repository corruption on the remote
side.
fatal: early EOF
fatal: index-pack failed
iMac:tmp hns$

So my main question is where I can get recent enough kernel sources
from?

That also raises more general questions:
* who (person, company) is responsible for git.openmoko.org?
* even more general: who is responsible for openmoko.org?
* if nobody, how can we protect that it suddenly completely disappears
because some room manager unplugs the power cord or nobody pays the
annual fee for the domain registration?

BR,
Nikolaus

As everybody noticed, correct homepage is:

http://code.google.com/p/podboy/wiki/Overview

I also forgot to say that Podboy is in SHR-unstable feed already, so to
install Podboy, simply type:

opkg install podboy

[SHR] Podboy 1.6.1

2010-04-21 Thread Valery Febvre
Hi,

Many releases has been out since last announce here, so it was really
time to do a new one.

Here is a summary of changes since the 1.3.0 release

* Lot of improvements in feed parsing and in chccking of updates.
* Add multi-selection in lists (podcasts and episodes).
* Podcasts can be renamed.
* Downloads can be canceled.
* Played episodes older than a specified amount of days (defined in
Settings) can be auto-deleted on every startup.
* Episodes can now be tagged as "(un)deletable" in page "Episodes". All
episodes with a status "undeletable" will be ignored when auto-deletion
of old played episodes will be done on startup.
* Enabled OGG audio format support. Ogg support has been added 3 months
ago, but it was so far disabled due to a bug in GStreamer oggdemux
pipeline element.
* New internal widget: Notify dialog. It is used to notify user when an
operation, that can take some time, ends.

Package: http://podboy.googlecode.com/files/podboy_1.6.1-r0_all.ipk

Podboy is a podcast aggregator/player written in Python/Elementary.

Features
* Designed to be finger friendly, fast, and easy to use
* RSS, Atom feeds
* User interface in Elementary
* Auto-suspend is disabled during playing
* Playing is stopped on incoming GSM call
* Bluetooth A2DP support
* Import from OPML file

Suggestions/feedback/bug reports are welcome.

Great, you are very close now :) You have slightly older copy of qtmoko git.
Please do

git pull

in your qtmoko git and try again. Or try another application - e.g. qtmoko-
apps/qsolitaire/

I have not tested it yet, but i think the sysfs files for powering up gps are
changed in v21 kernel. I have written about it here and will hopefully fix it
for next release:

http://lists.openmoko.org/pipermail/community/2010-April/061383.html

Btw the gps device is /dev/ttySAC1 and if you do:

cat /dev/ttySAC1

it should print some NMEA messges. If not then gps is probably not powered up.

This is a bug in v21. The sysfs node that turns on power to the gps
device has changed. It's now
/sys/devices/platform/s3c2440-i2c/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-0073/pcf50633-regltr.7/neo1973-pm-gps.0/power_on

If you change /opt/qtmoko/bin/gps-poweron.sh
and /opt/qtmoko/bin/gps-poweroff.sh to reflect this change it will work.
