Ah yes, knew I'd forgotten something. The sticker inside says the following:

GSM 850/1800/1900

Date Code: 20080620

PN 56-21146-00

I'm not sure if that makes in an A5 or an A6. It has had no fixes
applied - I've never had any problems with it.

Do you think to include a better wifi manager in next releases? the
default one still causes problem (alias you must be lucky to have a

I tried wicd-curses (from Squeeze repos) and it works very well, but of

You must have gps on and you must have fix. Then it takes data from GPS chip

 - AGPS lead

You must have GPS on. It takes data previously dumped to /var/cache/agpsdata
and sends them to GPS chip. The chip can use the data to get faster fix.

Both of the above scripts are used automaticaly by qtopia GPS manager (it's
called whereabouts or something like this) before turning GPS off and after
powering it on.

 - Fast Charge Mod

That's script from QtExtended 4.4.3 - i doubt it works.

 - GPS standby enter

When GPS is on it can put it in standby. In this mode GPS consumes very little
power.

 - GPS standy leave

Leaves standby mode. You can normally use GPS then and it should get very fast
fix.

Do you think to include a better wifi manager in next releases? the

I dont plan any rewriting. I will accept fixes/patches or standalone

I second OpenWRT. The image available for Freerunner is very light and fast
(didn't clock it, but perhaps just over half a minute for booting?).

It is usable as phone since it's so responsive (it wakes up before the caller
loses patience and hangs up). It leaves more than enough resources for

Only two things I have a problem with, are lack of capital letters (!) and GPRS

Leaving the Openmoko community, new wiki-admin needed

2010-08-31 Thread Marko Knöbl
Dear Openmoko community!

I have previously worked as the administrator of the Openmoko Wiki for the last
year. Unfortunately I have to announce that I will stop my involvement in the
Openmoko community and so a new admin is needed. The reason for leaving is
quite simple: I broke my FreeRunner last weekend at a party. Although I
enjoyed my time with it I won't get another one. (Instead I'm getting an N900
and hoping for MeeGo or Debian + FSO to provide a free OS for this device soon)

As I am leaving a new admin is needed in the wiki. The main task for such an
admin would be deleting pages which are either outdated or spam. More
information on the process of deleting pages can be found here:[1]. If you are
willing to assist the community by taking over this task please contact a wiki
sysop and request more rights on the wiki so you can delete pages. I think
Joachim Steiger (Roh) is the one to contact for this purpose.

I will continue the task of deleting unwanted pages until someone else will get
admin rights - but not longer than one month.

I wish you all the best for the future. It has been great to be a part of this
project!

OT: As my involvement in the Openmoko project is over I'm searching for new
challenges. I'm planning to take a break for several month now, but afterwards
I might consider writing some documentation again for some project related to
N900. So if you're working on a related project and need assisance with
documentation just contact me and maybe I'll join.

I don't know exactly what's broken - I just can't register to the
network anymore. Probably it's just the antenna. However I think it
wouldn't pay off to get it repaired. And as far as I know the official
MeeGo-releases for the N900 will be completely open source, so it will
be almost as open as the Openmoko devices. And I can't wait for the
next version of the FreeRunner because it was my only phone and I need

 Hi Radek,

I tried to do AGPS dump, but that gives no data in
 /var/cache/agpsdata.
Then i took a look at the sources and it says:
 gta02-gps $GPS_ARGS --dump-agps $AGPS_PATH
 (in qtmoko/devices/neo/src/devtools/scripts/gps-event.sh)

So i ran that manually, like this:
 /opt/qtmoko/bin/gta02-gps $GPS_ARGS --dump-agps $AGPS_PATH
 But that gives:
/opt/qtmoko/bin/gta02-gps: error while loading shared libraries:
libqtopiagfx.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

and ldd /opt/qtmoko/bin/gta02-gps shows a lot of missing libraries.

Am i doing something wrong, or is the code not yet functional?

 Kind regards,

I intended to give a hand, but I can't find the uSD with OpenWRT anymore to try

connection to my Freerunner :-(

Perhaps my problem at the moment is similar to yours but the other way around;
my network here is in the 192.168.1.x range, and I might have addedd incorrect
routes to 192.168.1.1 that the Freerunner occupies now.

As suggested in another reply, what does ip route say?
