Qtmoko repos

2010-12-14 Thread Kosa
He there! First of all THANK YOU for working on qtMoko. It works great.

Next, I wonder how dangerous it might be to change to squeeze repos. I'm
not thinkig about an apt-get dist-upgrade, but there are a few apps
(like pidgin) I would like to get from there.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I didn't save them, since the logfiles I know about had only the few
entries I told you about. When it happens next time, I'm going to do that.

Fortunately, only root folder's metadata were lost. Everything important was
recovered and backed up :)

More tests: the pim database, keyboards and dictionaries worked after I found
the correct paths.
To replace pim, I stopped phoneui, put it in the right place, started phoneui
again, worked great.

After 2 days of uptime, something broke and neither wlan or modem work. I tried
disabling and enabling the modem (it was pretty common for it to fail like that
with my SIM), but the logs say something about operation not permitted while
modem is suspended. When trying to access wifi via the Connectivity dialog or
fsoraw the respective program freezes for a few minutes, and I'm getting some
DBus timeouts.

That's it for today.

Cheers,

I would appreciate any feedback on this, as I don't know how to
save/restore/transfer my SMS but really don't want to lost them.

Sorry, this was an unexpected after-effect due to a kernel update
on one of our machines. The virtual machine running the wiki did not
come up after the reboot for some reason, and I was only checking the
mail / mailinglist service (a different vhost) after the reboot and
thought everything was up and running.

Please let me know if there are any other oddities,
