Re: QtMoko v44 for Freerunner now available
Got same error while updating. Rebooted the device and usb networking interface disappeared from laptop I'm using for FR network connection. cdc_ether module is not autoloading and dmesg shows nothing when I connect FR to laptop using USB cable. You can get images from here [1] or you can upgrade existing system with simple: apt-get update apt-get upgrade There are not so many new features. Most of the work went to GTA04 HW adaptation, but still there is: * improved qmplayer * improved wifi GUI * support for oFono * some build and other fixes As the GTA04 HW adaptation is getting finished, there will be now again more of new features and fixes in future releases. I haven't tested this release much. I cant easily flash the ubi - so this is completely untested. If you find some regressions, please report. Thanks Radek. I've just noticed that there's a small issue with linux kernel dir name during the upgrade: After this operation, 0 B of additional disk space will be used. Size of the screws closing the case
Hi list, This question is some funny, but does someone know the size of the two screws keeping close the case ? (I think that's m2, but I'm not sure and I haven't anyone to measure it). Someone of the community has repaired my Neo, but it seems he had forgot to give me back these screws. And without these screws, I've some wifi issue because antenna isn't well maintained on the board. Do you know also where I can get two of this screw in Switzerland ? Nikolaus I was seeking on the web and I found a Japanese website for screws. When I've seen their header image (which was a dissasembled watch), I had an idea : to make watch, swiss (and other) companies need screws. With some luck one of these companies still use European screws and could give us their screw supplier. But I think they all use Asian screw and if not maybe they couldn't give us such piece of information to protect their work... GTA04_This is my Fantasy
Just so everyone knows: I am not a programmer (just a dreamer), with no grasp on reality in regards to what is feasible or not. I'll leave it to you (the community) to decide. I was thinking it would be cool if my imaginary cell phone (I also dream of one day owning one) had the capabilities to boot linux from any desktop, via USB, provided it's support. This would grant me access to large programs such as CAD software, Inventor/AutoCAD, music/movies/photos, from where ever a desktop computer was available (BIOS Mooch). I would imagine the phones would need to be outfitted with a small solid state hard drive (at least 60 gb), and it would be nice if it had the ability to share media files (music) between QTmoko and Ubuntu (maybe?). Has anyone ever fantasized about this? Is it feasible? or Possible? Thanks, Travis Bachelder This email was sent by Howell Laboratories, Inc. or Shively Labs. WiFi issue in Qtmoko v44 for Freerunner
Hi Radek, Freerunners, It's not possible to connect to closed wireless networks in v44 because it seems to reset the encription settings every time it tries to authenticate. Anyone having the same issue out there? Any fix around? :) thanks, -- Tiago Bortoletto Vaz http://tiagovaz.org 0xA504FECA - http://pgp.mit.edu ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
