I'm selling one Freerunner ver. A6 - shipping to Italy and Europe

2010-04-08 Thread -= Apertum =-

   Hello to all,

I'm selling one of my two Neo Freerunner GTA02 Ver.A6, because of limited time
to play with.

It's fully functional and it has been used as my daily phone for some month.
Now i have a N900 and i'll use my second Freerunner only to experiment.
The display it's without scratches at all. I've bought from Pulster the device
in march 2009, V6 version. No buzz-fix, but i never seen any problem with that
here in Italy (my GSM operator is Wind-Infostrada), also from people that i'm
calling.

I'm selling the FreeRunner with following accessories:

- 512 MB micro SD
- original battery 1200mAh, in a good state (used as daily phone only form 2-3
month)
- original power adapter + plug multi-standard
- Stylus pen from Pulster

If you are interested i'm selling it for 99 euros + Shipping fees to Italy or
Europe (i'll use a standard insured shipping, not expansive). If anyone
interested, contact me.

Thanks, have a nice day! :-)

 Hi there!

qtmoko v19, debug -kernel, qi, freerunner

Most of the things were fine until noon today, when something
happened. No, I didn't install anything, didn't upgrade, update,
change any config, nothing. Something just happened.

 qtmoko starts normally
When I touch the touch screen, the screen light comes on, but no menu
 or icon reacts.
 AUX POWER work as expected.

hexdump -C /dev/input/event1 showed that touch is recognized, so it
shouldn't be hardware. Being able to run Debian normally confirms
 this.

Have been rebooting wishing this'd disappear, but no.
 Ran apt-get dist-upgrade and dpkg-reconfigure -a with no success.

Someone suggested that I should recalibrate the screen - how do I
start the calibration software from command line?
Someone suggested I should try xev. How do I start X from command line?

 Someone, please help... :/

Exactly same problem here, with a little variation: i can restart Qt
with the menu (all it's freeze but the touch works for the upperbutton).
Sometimes the UI works, but it disconnet totally from GSM, and i need to
restart QT. After 2 or 3 soft restart, it works. It's not a good
workaround but for me it's the only method to use my FR with QTmoko (v19
nodebug) as my everyday phone (with some trouble).

I agree here, totally.

And IMHO openess *should* be different in this aspect: it *must* be

Unfortunately it's still not the case of the FreeRunner (hardware side

I think that the community behind QtMoko now it's not so tiny, but we
need a method to concentrate better our efforts. IE: on the site it must
be some places to easily report bugs, problems or feedback by users, to
help testing (and betatesting) fo this (great) distribution. Something
like a bug tracker, answer for users, and so on, more over wiki.

Maybe we can open it on launchpad ?
It's there a stable main developer group behind QtMoko or is only a

But with the debug kernel it boots with qi.

Can confirm this with qi as well. qtmoko installed on uSD. Anyone know

I can also confirm this, so I am currently running the normal kernel.

I have also noticed that this image + kernel frequently shows

I confirm too these problem with Qtmoko-19 (but with the faster kernel).

I can't boot with qi directly, i have to use NOR menu.
And sometime when i boot it starts qtopia normally, but it seems
freezing or not completing the load, and i have to restart qtopia
manually 2 o 3 times to have it work properly.

And me too i have a lot of problem with the searching network on Gsm
registration, very problematic to use Qtmoko as a daily phone.

Rather then that: the FR now it's REALLY FAST with the interface!
I like this incredible improvement in velocity, it's huge. Now when i
press a icon it's superfast to load too.

It remains the problem with qi-boot and the GSM registration, that is
really problematic.

cannot finish a day with a full charge, doing only some short calls.
It's a big issue from day 0, IMHO, never really solved. I'm very happy

Do you use FR as your primary PDA?

Yes, but without the copy/paste fuction and a still not so good touch
keyboard, also here i've some problem.
But using it as a pure GPS device, it's really good.

What distribution you run most of the time?

QtMoko (latest version compilad and maintained by the great Radek

Dillo[1] is my favourite but I can't seem to find it in the repos- even

damn fast and fairly pretty. [1] Also has an opk that you may be able to
extract and execute, but I haven't had the chance to test it out
 myself.

I totally agree on using other browser, with the power of Debian, we can
use pretty everything with Apt, that's why i like a lot QtMoko! :-)

However it's not a bad idea to purge out from the QtMoko base
installation all the software that sucks like, that said, this
QtExtended default browser that, in fact, it's not usable for Web
browsing (but also the QtGPSdemo... and other default QtExtended
software pretty useless).

I think it's not bad to insert as a default browser Midori or, like you
said, Dillo, or any other Browser finger friendly, fast, usable, and
stable. And as default software pre-installed, i think also it's pretty
a must to insert a very good mixer (QalsaMixer) to fine tune calls volume.

QtMoko is great! :-)

2009-08-29 Thread -= Apertum =-

A little ciao here to all ;-)

I started my Neo usage some month ago with Qtopia. Yesterday i've
installed the V8 of QtMoko: i'd like only to say that i like a lot QtMoko!
Contratulation to all the contributors and maintainers!

IMHO it's really the best distro for everyday phone (of course there
some problems, but the base it's really strong).

The Qx trick to launch TangoGPS was really a cool idea, congratulation
to Radek for his incredible work on this (and not only on this).

I started to make some contribution to the QtMoko site htp://www.qtmoko.org

 Hi Andrea,
I also tried it out yesterday and loved the speed - I could not start
any X apps, however. How did you manage to run tangogps???
 Stefan
You have to click on the QX icon on the App section (it's a black icon
with an X). Then you can launch TangoGPS with a GUI. You can always exit
or pause TangoGPS with a quick AUX button pression. I think i'll try to
add some instruction and photos on the QtMoko Wiki (
http://www.qtmoko.org ).

Very cool, and it works well!

I like the fact that under Qt, with this method, we can launch any X
program, absolutely smart.
