Re: specific absorption rate
i was looking through planet earlier, when i saw this blogpost, which i'm sure others of you have read: http://blogs.thehumanjourney.net/finds/entry/20080901 The Neo FreeRunner SAR tests at 1.07 W/kg GSM and 1.17 W/kg DCS. I would say that's average, on the high side. The legal limit 1.6 W/kg in the US, 2 W/kg in the EU, and really few on the market get below 0.3. I guess that having a setting to limit the radiations emissions at the expense of radio sensitivity would be a Good Thing. Open Source choice is better for your health. That's has a different convincing power than `you can choose whichever keyboard you like', yes ? Re: Chancing SIM card without reboot
I'd also *love* to see a phone with two SIM slots - I can see the interface now, when you dial a number, it prompts you with dial as: number 1 number 2. I also like the Idea of having certain contacts set to automatically dial using a specified sim. In Real Life, telephones with two SIM slots are meant to be used by married people who need a secure, second communication channel... Startup/Xstart image replacement (How to remove the boots?!)
Hi, The boot splash should be flashed in its own partition. It was mentioned on the -devel list that it is apparently going to be part of the next upgrade. I posted the link to that message on the list last week IIRC, suggesting to add it to the zenity interface. (OM2008.8-update) (audio/GSM) alsamixer names
I'd like to suggest different names for the Alsa controls, because quite frankly I cannot relate to the ones I see in alsamixer. But first I'd like to ask you guys if you feel the same need as me. Do you feel comfortable with the present alsa channel names, or would you like them to be clearer? That would be a great deed. The present alsa channel names stink so much that only the bravest of the brave dare to get close to that subsystem. That goes a long way to explain why so far we still do not have the automagical configuration we all would like. Even on my desktop box, by the way, I had to rewire it to my stereo using the analog jack output because I lost the configuration for the coax digital. Re: Stage of GTA03 development?
Dear Michele, Put it on the wiki, but please do find a better place for it rather than Email not to lose ! Reading all the email, I found a lot of email where some people give very important informations, that I think some other people can be interested on. It just want to be a list of link with date and a brief description. May I kindly suggest that the community newsletter is a good place to add links with a brief description of important emails ? Here is the draft of the next issue, help is immensely appreciated: http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Community_Updates/December_29th%2C_2008 Hommages distingués, Minh ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
