Re: Alternatives to FR

2010-01-04 Thread A.A.
2010/1/4 William Kenworthy bi...@iinet.net.au

I'd looked at this one but its not 3G capable. I like the physical
keyboard, though being 96mm wide its a small book!

3G is almost essential as on my last holiday in northwest Australia,
there were a lot of 3G only areas - GSM seems like its disappearing :(

The android phones (htc dream?) - none of which are fully functional on
FSO/SHR (I think), and access through android to the underlying system
   is minimal.

Flow - good but pricy, and unless I am looking at the design wrong,

  Looks like an interesting device.
Not terribly cheap, and they seem to want you to buy in lots
of 1000, but once you find the price page:

 http://www.compulab.co.il/exeda/html/exeda-price.htm

it does appear that for 40% extra you can buy them in ones.
Maybe $US672 with wifi, bluetooth, gsm, gprs, gps,
  $US32 extra for a camera.

  Claims (http://www.compulab.co.il/exeda/html/exeda-os-support.htm) to
 all
  work with Linux.

If you buy one, let us know how it goes :-)

kernel om-gta02-2.6.31

2009-12-01 Thread A.A.
Hi,

I downloaded the last git kernel with command:
git clone git://git.openmoko.org/git/kernel.git linux-2.6

I switched to
git-checkout --track -b om-gta02-2.6.31 origin/om-gta02-2.6.31
but ./build script is absent!

How can I cross compile this kernel for my freerunner ?

Re: [debian/fso] fsoraw no effect?

2009-11-25 Thread A.A.
2009/9/26 Nikita V. Youshchenko yo...@debian.org

following the wiki i started navit with

  fsoraw -r Display,CPU navit

nevertheless, the display went blank after the idle timeout defined in
  frameworkd.conf.

Could you please do two simple things:

*) check the state of FSO resources while running the above command.

 This may be done with

 mdbus -s org.freesmartphone.ousaged /org/freesmartphone/Usage
 org.freesmartphone.Usage.GetResourceState Display
 mdbus -s org.freesmartphone.ousaged /org/freesmartphone/Usage
 org.freesmartphone.Usage.GetResourceState CPU

*) check what happens if you manually set resource policies for Display
 and CPU to 'enabled'

 mdbus -s org.freesmartphone.ousaged /org/freesmartphone/Usage
 org.freesmartphone.Usage.SetResourcePolicy Display
 enabled
 mdbus -s org.freesmartphone.ousaged /org/freesmartphone/Usage
 org.freesmartphone.Usage.SetResourcePolicy Display
 enabled

 Will display blank then?

I have same problem.
When I try to run mdbus command it result:

mdbus -s org.freesmartphone.ousaged /org/freesmartphone/Usage
org.freesmartphone.Usage.SetResourcePolicy Display enabled
ERROR:dbus.connection:Unable to set arguments ('Display',) according to
signature u'ss': type 'exceptions.TypeError': More items found in D-Bus
signature than in Python arguments

How can I solve?

   working on it?

GTA02 boots mainline 2.6.32 and Lars is working on pending patches
  see
  http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.openmoko.kernel/10406

Well my neo freerunner made a nice kernel panic when booting the 2.6.32
with a config that should have everything needed, (I even tried
with the config file given in this reply
 http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.openmoko.kernel/10407 )
so I really don't know... as for now I am on a custom andy-tracking
kernel because I can't find another version source that boot on my
neo... (I don't use openembedded I'm a I do it my way kind of guy ^^)

Oh I found out that the 2.6.32_rc6 has an undefined reference to
GTA02_GPIO_AMP_HP_IN something really bad because it never apprear
anywhere else in the code (grep -R proved that) offending file is
 sound/soc/s3c24xx/neo1973_gta02_wm8753.c compiled with
 SND_S3C24XX_SOC_NEO1973_GTA02_WM8753=y

I alsa found out that the compilation fails at link time if debug is not
activated because of an undefined reference to printascii() (defined
in assembly only when debug activated) function is called anyway in
s3c_pm_dbg() which is called even if debug is deactivated)

I don't know if I should post it on the official kernel mailinglist or
not so I post it here.

Good job,

but the package libh1settings0 is missing in debian repository. How can I
solve?

2009/10/31 Michal Brzozowski ruso...@poczta.fm

 2009/10/31 ri...@happyleptic.org

So the OSD keyboard inspired by fatfingershell is now quite
nice and useable, especially since the addition of user feedback
using vibrator (due to Radics Áron). Also, you can now configure
the keyboard layout to your will using a simple configuration
 file.

I'm curious and would like to try it out. Could you make an ipk for SHR
 too?
