GPRS tricks for QtMoko?
Hi all. Under SHR, I used GPRS without any problems. Under qtmoko v35, I had no luck. I used the same access data as for SHR (plus "Startup mode: When needed") at Settings|Internet|Data|New, but when I start a connection it blinks for some seconds with the message "PROVIDER pending", short flash of "PROVIDER unavailable" and finally "PROVIDER offline". (In the top region, a "G" is shown, but ping to known numerical IPs fail.) Which log to check? Which options to play around? Sorry, for taking your time again :-( Sven ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

Bluetooth keyboards
Hi all. Will bluetooth keyboards work with the freerunner (qtmoko)? I am especially interested in the "Freedom Pro Bluetooth Keyboard", but recommendations are welcome :-) An alternative could be the one from the wiki: http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Freedom_Slim_Keyboard But there is no mention of qtmoko support? (OK, _if_ I get Navit working (see below), I could do this myself.) > Navit from the > appropriate Debian repository? OK. I tried this now. The following works without adjusting repositories: apt-get install navit When I started QX from the GUI I had to install an X server. Which one is recommended? (Xorg or Xglamo?) I tried both, but with no success (I saw Raptor install packages, but no error message; it could be that the root fs is full now). So, I tried apt-get install xserver-xorg which worked, but starting xterm (or navit) from QX leads to: "Unable to connect to X server" Ciao Sven ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
Navit problem?
Hi all. (This is on a freerunner with qtmoko v35.) I am trying Navit for the first time and followed these instructions: http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/QtMoko#Navit_Installation Works fine, but after the suggested reboot, I just see "Enter PIN the press Unlock" (no numbers field as usual). The screen and the buttons do not react in any way. What to do now? Switching from SHR to QtMoko?
Hi all. I consider switching from SHR to QtMoko (Neo FreeRunner) because the latter distribution seems to be better maintained and might be a better path if one considers buying a GTA04 later on. Please correct me if I am wrong ... If I want to switch to QtMoko, the installation guide on http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/QtMoko seems to be out-of-date because it talks about .jffs2 files (qtmoko-debian-v24.jffs2) which are not distributed for v33. Which is a more up-to-date installation guide? Greetings Sven ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
