Well, the irritating thing is, There is NOTHING a screenless FR can do that
my laptop can't, and if I need a computer to make it do anything
interesting, then what's the point in having a 400MHz processor do it
instead of my 2.0GHz dual-core? :P

Not sure what you mean by that, but the phone boots just fine. It even
blanks the screen and turns it on when I touch it, it just doesn't show
anything useful on it. I can connect it and ping it and SSH into it and play
music from it. The screen just doesn't work. All white with some vertical
$127 + shipping, and I don't even get a buzzfix out of the mix? :\ Doesn't
really sound worth it.

Unfortunately, I only have one screen of icons now so I don't really need
it, but it looks really nice. Only two things:
* The clock was cut in half horizontally by the blue background below and
black above.
Just use USB and gpsd. It works perfectly well. Except for me, my GPS quit
working a while back and hasn't started again yet. }:(

Well, I can tell you that there is no Skype software for FR. Skype is closed
source, and the protocol is closed as well, so no-one can compile it for ARM
processors and no-one can make a 3rd party client.
Aside from that, you can use whatever VOIP software you want, but you'll

Unfortunately, bluetooth calling support is preset but woefully inadequate.
SHR will use it, but you have to restart some services (or reboot) to turn
BT on or off. Other than that, it works. Look at the 'Manually Using
Bluetooth' wiki page.

In the mean time, I've had to disable bluetooth entirely since it's just not
ready to use yet. If I suspend the phone, then it disconnects from the
headset, and I can't answer calls until I run the dbus command, which isn't
realistic to do while the phone
Yes, it can be done with bash scripts, but there's no avoiding restarting
frameworkd and ophonekitd. That's the part that takes so long.

Everything works as expected, but my play/pause still likes to send two
events most of the time, and therefore the music pauses for a moment then
resumes. This means Intone is doing everything correctly, but it makes it
somewhat pointless for me. :P

I've got a Plantronics Voyager 855, it works pretty well. It can be stereo
for music, or mono for calls.
That tends to happen when you try to specify a package for installation
(actually give it an IPK or OPK) that is in the repos. It checks the
checksum of the package you provided against the one in the repo, and if
they aren't the same, it freaks out. I wish there was a way to tell it to

do a reboot then anyways so that would have been easier than figuring
out which services to restart and why mokonnect wouldn't stop even with
a killall mokonnect.

I'm not sure if X ever started. I think I always had to SSH in and turn it
on manually. Which logfile would I check? The only one I ever look at on the
FR is frameworkd.log, but it wouldn't have anything to say about this.

Well, as yet another Jerry, I don't need a GUI for bluetooth. I'm perfectly
happy to edit configs and run commands all day long, so long as at the end
of the day (or week... Month... Year) it works. Only once we've gotten that
far do I see a point in creating a GUI.

i have actually found the issue with my shr-u not working - the uSD
card got corrupted somehow, fsck fixed it all and now everything is
alright again... symptoms - dbus not working, no gsm.

Now THAT is weird, because mine was corrupted about a week ago, and it
i upgraded to the latest shr-unstable earlier, and it appears
ophonekitd is not being started at boot. when the fr starts, there is
no service connection, and an error message when i run shr-settings.
