Does this mean we can expect similar battery life gains from the 'other'
images?

Hi Marc,

This is great news! Just to confirm the latest with the FSO image, when
I looked at the youtube video demo'ing the interface last it was only
capable of making/receiving calls - is this still the case?

Thanks,

Hi Bobby,

Well, I should've clarified that I haven't tested GSM after a resume (I
was just happy to have the UI return to a usable state). And I'm using
the 17th image/kernel recommended by Kevin Dean. I'll report back on my
GSM test results in another email.

I too emailed the web shop (and a FIC employee whom I saw popup on the
community list) and got an instant reply + quite a number of
correspondences since (and a your credit card has been charged
message!).

Go OpenMoko!

OpenMoko Viral Marketing in the South Pacific

2007-08-03 Thread Tim Knapp
Hello,

Just a quick note that the Neo1973 seems to have started its viral
marketing campaign in the South Pacific - i.e. in NZ's largest national
newspaper[1]. The article is a bit misleading, though, as it refers to
the Neo in an image but is actually discussing the 'GooglePhone' - oh
well "c'est la vie".

Re: Anyone, not billed yet?

2007-07-31 Thread Tim Knapp
Hello Sudharshan,

Yes I haven't been billed yet. My order id is #2018, ordered 9 July,
around 08:30 CST (Taiwan time). Joachim "roh" Steiger did confirm that
my order is in the system and that my YES_I_DO email was received
successfully. I was also asking anxiously about this on #openmoko last
night and a couple of theories were that OpenMoko may be having problems
importing the Neo1973 P1s into Taiwan or that my billing address for my
credit card (i.e. it's different from the delivery address) may be
slowing things up - can anyone confirm these theories?

Thanks in advance,
Tim

Hello Cassj,

Yeah I haven't received a response yet either and I'm #2018.

Thanks,

Re: community Digest, Vol 36, Issue 45

2007-07-20 Thread Tim Knapp
Hello Kero/Jeff et al,

A NZ-grown opensource project that addresses the mailing list VS forum
problem might help here - http://onlinegroups.net/

It functions a lot like Yahoo Groups and gives people the *option* of
choosing their desired interface, i.e. mail client or web forum.

Just my 2c.

Kind regards,
Tim

Which unfortunately excludes Japan as according to the wiki[1] there are
no GSM providers there :-(
