which gps app can do this?

Hi! I'd like to be using my FR on my little boat as marine GPS. I was curious if, in your opinion, it could be possible to constantly show the distance between me and the nearest point on the coast line. This would be important because in my country (and i guess everywhere) there are rules about

ure that 1) the phone is still alive, 2) have we got any call/msg during suspend mode?, 3) battery dischargine status. Any progress in this matter til now? I think the matter is that a suspended phone cannot mean an "undead" phone. It still has to be... useful! my 2 cents bye! lanzo

custom beeps

angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/sources/beep-1.2.2.tar.gz on angstrom site. I tried to unpack and compile that on the FR, i got my executable, but it just does nothing at all: no beeps, no terminal output. Any hint?
