2011-06-30 Thread phifmr
Hi,

As mentioned in an other message it seems there is a bug when leaving
air plane mode.

Is there a place to report it because http://bugs.qtmoko.org/ is actually
unreachable.

Kind reagards

Re: smartkeyboard and accented letter

2011-06-30 Thread phifmr
De (from) (von) omega.xav...@gmail.com :

 I've got the same problem :(

 I would like to investigate but I don't know where to start... any
 keyboard expert here to give some clues ?

Perhaps (I don't know openmoko enough) a locale problem ?

root@neo:~# locale
LANG=C
LC_CTYPE=C
LC_NUMERIC=C
LC_TIME=C
LC_COLLATE=C
LC_MONETARY=C
LC_MESSAGES=C
LC_PAPER=C
LC_NAME=C
LC_ADDRESS=C
LC_TELEPHONE=C
LC_MEASUREMENT=C
LC_IDENTIFICATION=C
LC_ALL=C

Will it be better with
dpkg-reconfigure locales
and take utf-8 ?

But is qtmoko utf-8 compatible ?

[Qtmoko] how to disable GSM function

2011-06-29 Thread phifmr
Hi,

(¹) Thanks for your great job. More I use it more I love it (especially
because it is debian based).

Because I want to limit at the maximum GSM functionality (particularly
the radio frequency) , is there a way to stop/resume this GSM
functionality on the fly (that is without shutdown the phone).

Many thanks for any clue.

Kind regards.

(¹) Sorry for my poor English (I was a bad pupil :))

 Did you give a look at air plane mode?

Shame on me. A lot of tanks.

But there is a bug (¹) : phone doesn't re-register to GSM network
after leaving airplane mode.

I get no network (french translation of pas de réseau) message.

I can re-register to GSM network only if I restart Qt Extended.

(¹) I can't check because I can't access to the bug page on the new
sourceForge  wiki

smartkeyboard and accented letter

2011-06-25 Thread phifmr
Hi,

I'm trying to use smartkeyboard with french language.

I have made a words.dawg with the french words list (/usr/share/dict/french)
included in
wfrench debian package ()

$ qdawggen -d lang_LANG /usr/share/dict/french

and I've followed all the recommendations in Qtmoko FAQ.

No problem with ASCII words. They are recognized.

But words with é, è, à are not the first time they are entered (but
they are the second time).

For example when I write définition the first time, I press d normally
but I must press and hold down on the é (impossible to get é without a
long pressure) etc...So the word définition is added to the dictionary
(in spite it's already in my words.dawg)

The second time I write d-e-f-i-n-i-t-i-o-n (without accent only with
[board1]) with normal pressure and the word définition (with accent)
is recognized (because it has been added to the dictionary).

Is there a way to make a words.dawg in such a way that accented words
are recognized the 1rst time they are entered ?

Kind regards.

Re: [qtmoko] How to invoke speed dial ?

 I haven't done this since the first couple of Qtopia releases for the FR!
 But if it is all still working, you go to the dialer (the first icon on the

 working a couple years back so good luck! (I would test for you, but calling
 on my plan is very expensive).

Ok thank you for your help. I have tried that but don't work :(
Perhaps it works on Qtopia but not on Qtloko ?

[qtmoko] How to invoke speed dial ?

2011-06-15 Thread phifmr
Hi all,

I've just installed qtmoko v35.

1rst a lot of thanks for your great job :)

My pb is I cannot use speed dialing (especially shortcuts)

I've made :

* View the contact.
* Press Options and select Add to Speed Dial... from the menu.
* Choose whether you want Speed Dial to call, text, or view the contact.
* If the contact has more than one phone number, choose which of them to call
or text.
* Choose a speed dial slot for the contact.

So I have a phone number associated with number 1.

It's written on help that:

,
| To invoke a 1-digit speed dial, press and hold for a few seconds the
| key for that digit while on the home screen. To invoke a 2-digit speed
| dial, press (and release) the first key, then hold the second key.
`

Question : where to press and hold the key for that digit ?(perhaps
this help is for another phone...with keyboard ?)

,
| To invoke a speed dial entry, write the number associated with the
| entry on teh homescreen
`

same ?

Is it impossible to use shortcuts ? If not how can I achieve that ?

Thank you in advance for your help.
