mark a missed call as seen

2008-07-29 Thread reaper527

is there any way to mark a missed call as seen?

for example on my old phone, if i got a missed call, i would get
notification on the main screen, and then hitting a button would take me to
the list of missed calls, and the phone would acknowledge i looked at the
calls, and it would stop counting those towards totals for the next missed
call.

with the freerunner, if i get a missed call, it goes into the call log as
missed, and then keeps adding on to that count. if i miss 2 calls, click the
you missed 2 calls thing, and then later miss 1 call, it will say i missed
3 calls at that point instead of saying i missed 1. the only work around i
have been able to find is to manually delete all my missed calls, which
isn't ideal.

anything obvious i've overlooked?

You have to put the number in if it doesn't show up. I think the number
shows up if it is a known contact, and you don't reply to the copy of the
message that is in unknown user.

Caller ID Problem

2008-07-28 Thread reaper527

When I get an incoming call, it displays the persons phone number, even if
that number is associated with someone in my phone book. Is there anyway to
get the number to be matched up with the name and have the persons name
display at the incoming call screen and missed call log?

(also, the numbers are only in the phonebook once. i know on my old phone if
i had the same number in multiple places, it would show the number instead
of guessing a name)

Ringtone Question

2008-07-28 Thread reaper527

I was wondering how people have generated their ringtones for use with the
openmoko. I have mp3's, which according to what i've read, aren't compatible
to use as ringtones.

i ended up clipping the mp3's to get the sections i want and exporting them
as wav files using audacity on a windows machine. i then scp'ed the wav
files over to the openmoko, at which point they wouldn't work as ringtones.
the phone would just vibrate silently.

upon further testing, the wav files didn't play in the media player either,
yet they played just fine on my windows machine. are there any special
settings i need to configure when i setup ringtones? (and yes, i did restart
the x server after editing /etc/pulse/session)

Problem Making Keyboard Dissapear

2008-07-23 Thread reaper527

I am currently using the multi-touch keyboard, and am having a hard time
making the keyboard disappear when I use the webbrowser (in my case,
minimo).

I have tried altering the /etc/matchbox/session file, as the toggle switch
guide suggested, but I am not seeing a button to enable/disable the
keyboard. the following is the contents of my session file

 start -

#!/bin/sh
SHOWCURSOR=no

openmoko-today
phone-kit

matchbox-window-manager -use_titlebar yes -use_desktop_mode decorated -theme
Moko -use_cursor $SHOWCURSOR $@

matchbox-panel-2 --start-applets systray,startup \
  --end-applets
keyboard,openmoko-panel-battery,openmoko-panel-gsm,openmoko-panel-gps,openmoko-panel-usb,openmoko-panel-bt,openmoko-panel-memory,openmoko-panel-wifi
--titlebar

exec neod

 end -

does anyone see anything obvious that I might have messed up?

Clock Configuration Question

2008-07-22 Thread reaper527

I have my clock configured to the proper date/time, however I was hoping to
set it up as a 12 hour (am/pm) clock instead of the 24 hour (military time)
clock it uses by default.

Does anyone know how to set this up? I did a google search on the date
command, but it didn't seem to take pm in the time parameter like the search
suggested.
